Da Shrimp Hale, Kahului HI

We love this place! Owners are super friendly and the seafood is cooked to perfection! We try to go every time we have a day off. We always get the shrimp and it is so good.

Interesting way they serve the seafood.

I ordered a pound of shrimp in their garlic butter sauce. It came in a large plastic bag with the sauce. Different, but OK. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the quality was great.

They give you a pair of clear plastic gloves to put on and no silverware. Again different, but OK. My only problem with the meal, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that the shrimp were whole. Using the gloves and my fingers I had to grab a shrimp out of the sauce in the bag and then peel off the head, legs, and shell. Even for really good shrimp I'm not interested in working that hard and getting that messy to get to my meal.

If you're OK with peeling your own shrimp dripping in sauce with your fingers while wearing plastic gloves, you'll love the food. If not, I recommend going somewhere else.

We went here for my birthday. Great food, reasonable prices, and a fun experience with a bib and paper on the tables. A great place to go when you’re really hungry.

Seafood boil here was yummy and we also enjoyed their fried wings and calamari. There was only one server for the entire place when we came but she was great! Very helpful and attentive. Only thing I thought the market price of the lobster and crab was quite expensive ($50+ per pound)

Cute little place within a strip mall. Super busy during lunch hour. Mac & cheese tasted similar to Annie's Mac & Cheese (runny but tasty), crab puffs were the best, coconut shrimp were decent size and tasty. Portions are ok for the price. Service is somewhat slow due to only 1 or 2 people staffing the tables.

I ordered the Rib Eye steak medium well, came with rice, sautéed onions in a buttery garlic sauce so delicious sorry no pics but I can guarantee the food is great! No need to ask go try it there's also shrimp, crab legs, corn on the cob etc. You've got to try it!

Wonderful place. The calamari and fried cat fish was excellent and best of all was the friendly service. The owner gave us good advice on the local beaches to visit and even offered to give us ice for our drinks at the beach. I would highly recommend Da Shrimp Hale!

Very local very good. Be prepared for great shellfish and no utensils. Plastic gloves butcher paper and a lot of yum. Tempted to compare to Maryland or Louisiana boils but they are rather tame in comparison. Mahalo!

Went on recommendation of locals. We got shrimp (heads on, no utensils, but gloves and bib provided!) and snapper. Tremendous! Server was very friendly and helpful! Informal atmosphere. Giggly recommend!

We had a combo bag and oysters with a whole lobster.
If you want good seafood and eat it like you don’t care about how messy it is, this place is the perfect one to have fun while eating it.

Solid seafood option with operating hours that are a bit more hospitable for folks arriving after 7pm.

The food is actually SO GOOD. Literally had the best experience ever. The servers are so sweet and answered all of our questions with patience. The food tasted incredible and was some of the best seafood ive ever had. Seriously a 10/10 experience. We loved it so much that we went again the next day:)

Great lemon pepper wings! The wings stayed hot until I finished them. Highly recommend this place.
