36 dollars to have my jeans hemmed. Haven't gotten them back yet. Staff is friendly and they are super busy. Will take three weeks but I'm in no hurry. Hope its worth it. They've been in business forever so I'm expecting great results.

Had a couple pairs of jeans hemmed here. Great work, on time, and friendly service. I will be coming back here when I have other pieces of clothing that need to be tailored.

Love Design Alterations. I come here yearly to get my sons dress pants altered for school. Always fast and efficient. Recently requested 8 pants to be altered quickly, 2 days. Of course, she made it happen. My go-to spot for Alterations.

Lucy at Designer Alterations has been doing all my alterations for years. She is friendly and knowledgeable and provides an honest service for an honest price. I’ve had her fit everything from jeans to suits for many years. Most recently I brought her a family heirloom Mink Teddy Bear in bad condition. Obviously not her usually work, she went ahead and took on the task of restitching by hand. I was shocked that it was done a few days later and for a very reasonable price. I trust Lucy with my Armani suits and my Mink fur bear. I will continue to use Lucy for all my alterations.

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for Lucy and her amazing alterations! Lucy came to rescue after I had been dealing with a stressful experience working with another alterations shop. I had already spent hundreds of dollars on alterations and had to visit the other shop multiple times, but still felt that the dress wasn't fitting right just 3 weeks before my wedding day. It was much too loose and the bustle on my wedding dress was heavy and hung off to the side, pulling the entire dress down.

I was feeling so discouraged, but as soon as I showed Lucy the dress, she immediately knew how to fix it and assured me that she would be able to complete the alterations by my wedding date. She validated my concerns and explained exactly how she would be able to fix it. She was a breath of fresh air and made me feel completely at ease even though I was a ball of stress before my visit.

When I picked up the dress, I was blown away at how much more confident I felt in the dress! By shortening the straps and hemming the train, she completely transformed an uncomfortable and heavy dress into the wedding dress of my dreams! I am so thankful for Lucy's work and most of all, her kindness! I would highly recommend Lucy for any bride in need of alterations!

Before actually coming to the business, I was searching online for a place close to me, as I live on the north shore, so it's far from so many specific businesses that I often need lol

Even before coming in to do business, I had a bunch of questions and just phoned in with them, and the owner (I assume) was so nice over the phone and cordial. Mind you, I called around three times I think.

This is the first time for me to alter anything and I was nervous that I'd be ripped off or have something that I wasn't satisfied with. Which is not applicable to this business.

Again, I wish I had introduced myself or got a name, but the person who helped me (again, I assume the owner) was so nice and cordial, and to the point, which makes sense as she probably has a lot to do.

The whole experience of me on the phone, to going in, to lastly picking up my hemmed pants were great and the same person, friendly and understanding. As I had forgot my slip. Please don't forgot your slip if you use this business, just makes it less awkward for anyone to tell you next time or maybe you might not be able to pick it up if she can't remember the order I assume, as there's a lot of other clothes lol

The process of getting the new size established was faster than I initially thought, as I had five pants to hem. The process took around 15-20 mins, and that's with trying on, finding the size and paying for everything. It went faster because the brand and fit for two of the items were the same. I was also the only person in the store at the time, but after I was done, someone had walked in.

Our overall small talk and communication was smooth and nice. Nothing was an issue and I was able to get my new sizes today without issue too.

I'd recommend the business to anyone in the area, or not, if you don't have an already established relationship with any other business. The whole experience was great and I'm very satisfied with the service I received, from customer interactions to final product.

This woman subjected me to racial profiling. The man, a local, was not asked to pay in advance. The man, a local, paid for his pickup. When it was my turn she insisted that everyone pays upfront. Obviously she was lying. I called her out and she said she was being “threatened “. Her actions were disgusting. If you are not local please do not patronize this business. I have been here 40 years and this nonsense still exists

Super great and quick service for my bridesmaid dress! I brought it in late and she was super accommodating so I could get it back in time. My mom has been going there since I was a little girl-it’s very family feel.

I loaded the seamstress with at least 8 pieces of alterations a week for over a month in her already busy establishment. Each week, she was never late with honoring the pick up date, nor were there ever any errors. Friendly, honest, and really good quality of service (and I'm very picky with tailors). I won't go anywhere else now.

Lucy hemmed my dress perfectly! I know it was a huge pain with the amount of layers but she gave me an accurate time line and was very nice and professional. Would definitely come back again for any other alterations or hemming needed.
