Doraku Izakaya and Sushi reviews
23This was the best Hotel ever. Unlimited breakfast and coffee 24 hours a day. The staff was amazing and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this place
Good drinking spot but not exactly a fine Japanese dining spot. I had to spit out uni sushi and stop finishing remainder of deluxe sushi dish and ordered steak. But cool interior and bar and wait staffs.
Street parking. Price is ok. The environment is nice. Japanese modern style. The food is ok. Not too amazing or bad
Tried this restaurant for the first time last week. The food here was awesome, and the prices were pretty reasonable too. We had the chicken karaage, garlic hamachi roll, chirashi, and sashimi. Finished with the honey toast, which was huge! Went back again a few days ago for their happy hour, and loved it. They also had a great selection of Scotch & Bourbon. The waiters were awesome & friendly, quick service. Great place for a date night for me & the wife.
Had higher hopes for this place. Went there for lunch today and the waitress took my order using her memory, repeated it back correctly, and omitted items from my orders. It wasn't apparent until she delivered my check. The restaurant wasn't packed at all, only 3 other customers were dining. The food that I did get was tasteful, but I have to give this place a low rating because of the waitresses's service quality. Such a shame.
Our server Rachel was the best! Super cool and we had lots of fun. Happy hour at doraku is one of the best places to go to.
Supposed to be a place that serves sushi, but everything but sushi got to our table within a reasonable time. Drinks took forever as well. This is supposed to be one of the best sushi places. Not impressed. Sushi was mostly tempura
So good! A little pricey for the portions, but so delicious, I didn’t even complain. Would definitely go here again next time I’m in Hawaii.
Always fun coming here, good music, good environment. Late night happy hour, you can’t go wrong!
Delicious food! Great service! Call for reservations as it often gets busy! Aoki Sake is a must!
This is a great place for eat and drink! They have The combination of traditional Japanese and modern interior. The decor is very attractive. The audience is young and presentable. Excellent Japanese food in the heart of Honolulu. I tried amazing sashimi and sushi. Good selection of sake, beers, wines and cocktails. I was there Saturday night and I admired very vibe atmosphere. I will come back there again!
I love this place for their happy hour pricing! If you like lychee then the Lychee Martini is a must. It's so sweet & exudes the taste of lychee. There rolls are delicious too.
Place is beautiful, so is food. From all accounts, food is awesome as well. Unfortunately, there is MSG in almost everything other than sashimi according to management. For me, and possibly others who are allergic or sensitive, that means we cannot eat the food safely except for sashimi.
Great service and food. Went on a Friday with co-workers for lunch. Godzilla and Emperor rolls are delicious! Parked at the metered parking.
The food and ambiance at Doraku is brilliant. The 4 of us shared plates and drinks for several hours and left happy and full.
Decent Japanese food and sushi. I had a 2pc hamachi nigiri. The fish was full of flavor but it wasn't the best cut. It had trouble staying on the rice.
I had a hitsumabushi which was the eel and green tea broth. The eel was a bit tough, but the the flavor was amazing. Was not a huge fan of the broth. Price was a bit high for the quality of the food.
The service was really nice, though we went to eat and expected good poke, quality butterfish, everything we tried was below par including the fried octopus, the various sushi, etc.the atmosphere was "OK" and.let's just say we are not coming back
Fairly fast service and great tasting food. Some items could be better presented but who cares when it all tastes delicious in the tummy. Also has a decent collection of Japanese whisky and sake.
Service wasn't very good. Food was good, I but I wouldn't return. The Waikiki location has much better service.
