DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Alana - Waikiki Beach

This is our 2nd time staying here and id stay here again and again. The rooms the staff and customer service is top notch. We came on a family vacation here and it has been so nice. This hotel is definitely a cut above in my opinion. Location is great for shopping, the beach and even a laundromat if needed. A perk is the warm cookies available to you at any time of day. They are so good. I cannot express how wonderful our stay has been here. Everything is very clean and staff has been very helpful.

I haven’t even checked in yet and I’m disappointed with the service! I have called repeatedly for the last week and a half to change my room from King to dual Queen! Im asking for a downgrade and NO cost reimbursement to no avail. I’ve been told on-site reservations must take care of it, but they tell me this is an “advanced reservations” correction. When I contact advanced reservations, they send me to on-site reservations. Meanwhile, on-site employees REFUSE to work and help me in any way. I’ve also asked to speak to the reservations Mgr, only to be met with a voice mail box. This is the absolute worst. My next course of action is to dispute the charge on my card and reserve a room in a different hotel! Unbelievable. Terrible service, why would I stay here when THIS is my pre-stay welcome?

I couldn't be more disappointed if I tried. I stayed here a while back for a friend's wedding and was excited when business brought me back to Honolulu. Boy, was I let down.

The once great restaurant and bar is now a bar (Chad was awesome at least) and a pseudo kitchen that served food in 2,3-hour periods (breakfast and dinner). Not exactly exciting cuisine.

More than that, as a business traveller I was extended for another 11 days and tried to extend. I ran into one obstacle after another between the front desk and reservation number. Total lack of delegated decision making and presence of helplessness. It was a combo of not caring to get my business and inability to do so, if anyone took initiative.

I ultimately gave up after a few days and moved to the Illikai down the street where I'm having the exact opposite experience. What a downer after staying at Hilton properties 100's of nights.

Bless the staff's hearts, but do not recommend.

Location wasn't the best but also not terrible. Valet is near busy intersection and folks seem to have trouble going in the right way sometimes. Everyone that worked here was amazing from valet to cleaning. Stayed thinking Gold Status would cover breakfast like stateside but same buffet as every other Doubletree is $29.99. Front desk gave me some coupons that reduced down to $4.99 which helped. Close walk to lots of food options.

The service was amazing the staff was friendly! But some how they still charged the card I asked them not to charge I went down and gave a different card at checkout because I hate the holds placed on my vacation money. My receipt shows the correct card o gave at checkout but my credit card statement shows otherwise.

Nice location within easy walking distance of restaurants. Our city view suite was larger than expected and accommodated five adults comfortably. Clean room. Very friendly staff! Ate a light breakfast at their cafe downstairs. Kombucha on tap was delicious! Valet service was mandatory but well worth it! The valet staff were cheerful and provided quick service and answers to questions!

One of the best and cleaniest hotel! Staff were helpful! Cudos to Reynolds and his long hair guy partner at the reception. Nathan and Amber for the help. The filipino chef for the great meal on our events.

Rooms, service and location were okay. The chocolate cookie I got when I checked in was delicious (^o^)
There was also a Japanese restaurant called "Chibaken" behind the hotel, which was delicious.
There are also two 7-Elevens nearby (^o^)
Five stars if Hawaiian Music plays and there are staff who can speak Japanese.

We were greeted as soon as we pulled up. This hotel is a very friendly place and affordable.

We stayed for 7 days and we didn't get the promised Lysol cleaning.
Front desk personal weren't able to answer basic questions about our bill.
Valet staff was the best! They where all very friendly! Always professional they definitely made out stay better. They get ️️️️️

One block from the 2023 no. 2 beach in the us by Dr. Beach. Double balcony off our 16th floor room - small heart attack for parents though!

Great service, fun cheerful valet and bell hops, terrace pool, across from a large park.

Beds are super comfortable!

Room needed cleaning, pool was empty and wasn’t communicated the other Hilton could be used down the street. Better information at the valet desk than the front counter. Elevator didn’t require a key so anyone can get to room floors. Hotel was undergoing maintenance would have been nice to know before getting there was noisy in the day.

Lots of noise from other rooms. The pool was closed. Front desk staff were uncooperative for simple requests. Renovation work during the day. The bathrooms are cramped and oddly designed. The finance/accounting office for the hotel is unresponsive.

Overall not too good. Being close to the Waikiki beach is its saving grace.

I am a Hilton honors diamond member and I own with HGV. I Paid the same amount to stay at Hilton Hawaii village tapa tower. No way will I ever do it again. On arrival people fighting outside hotel, pool area not welcoming. Breakfast they charge you $29 and half of the items were not even available at 6 am. Traffic is awful ti get in and out of the property:

$50 (~53 after tax) for parking is excessive even for this area, so is the $30+ breakfast. Especially when the hotel has large areas under construction and the restaurant has a massive leak in the ceiling. The rooms are slightly outdated and the humidity has definitely taken a toll. The staff is the saving piece as they were great.

No pool on-site I was not told this prior to booking. I tried to cancel they wanted to charge me a night. My flight got cancelled they still charged me for a night I wasn’t there. No ocean views, hotel is old/run down. Not enough people working valet I had to go get my car myself? ! Valet is like $60 a night also. Not what you expect from a Hilton especially in Hawaii

We booked this hotel for our recent trip to Honolulu. FYI, pool is not in working condition! We had to walk over to the Hilton Towers for our children to enjoy a pool day. The shower leaked a ton of water where we had to use two shower mats along with regular shower towels to soak it all up. My children walked around barefoot on the carpet and their feet turned black. The staff was AMAZING; however, for what this hotel charges, there should be no leaking showers, no dirty carpets, and a working pool!

There’s no Aloha at this place.
Please don’t bother buying b’fast here.you’ll destroy your vacation. Staff is extremely rude, and customer service is non-existent. Just a bunch of mean people who hate their job.
Front desk has decent people though. And can’t complain about the cookies, it’s delish. Too bad that restaurant staff overshadows all goodness at this place.
