Duke's Kauai, Lihue HI

Duke’s is probably worth 3.5 stars. It’s consistent, the food is fine but it’s quite expensive for what you get. It’s always busy due to its location and you’re gonna pay a big bill at the end. When I’ve stayed at the Marriott it’s very convenient; the view is great but I’ve never really gone out of my way to eat there. You’ll be poorer when you leave but you won’t be hungry: D

Food here is tasty and fresh. You can tell they use good quality ingredients. Our server Kai was great as well and she definitely made our experience worthy of the 5 stars. Will be visiting again next time we're on the island.

Service was slow, waited 10mins before someone showed up. Had to ask for condiments and a refill on drink.

Love Duke's. Had an awesome Poke bowl on this trip. Of course, had to have a piece of Hula Pie as well. So good!

Absolutely loved it! Wow! Had a fantastic time, and the scenery was awesome. Hope to go back again someday.

Overall a decent experience. It's a nice restaurant that has a very cool look to it. The menu didn't have anything too crazy on it, fairly standard for everything you see on the island. Decent drinks. Decent service.

We spent a week on Kauai and this one one of our favorite stops.

We sat in the bar, and our server was amazing. Drinks never came close to empty, and we never felt neglected.

Food was awesome, I got the ribs and teri chicken, wife got the taco Tuesday tacos. Would recommend both.

The view is hard to beat, the swell was medium, and there were tons of foils to watch.

Good time, not extremely touristy, well worth the visit.

Quick and fast service for a reasonable price… typical bar food choices though it was limited to around 5-7 dishes when we went.

Great atmosphere. I had the Mai Tai with local rum that was delicious and I ordered the Sautéed Macadamia Nut & Herb-Crusted Fresh Fish. It was tender and the sides complimented the fish very well.

The food was amazing! We ate here multiple times during our stay. We requested Blaise every time we went, she made the experiment fun and light. If you have a choice ask for Blaise.

Absolutely loved visiting! The food was AMAZING! The drinks were what we needed and were DELICIOUS! We were so happy to have stopped. Also, the macadamia nut ice cream cake was unbelievable.

You can't get better than a restaurant located on the beach. The Bartenders are fantastic! Food is incredible

We were staying at at the Marriott close by and had been to Dukes, on the first floor, several times throughout our stay and it was great. We wanted to try the second floor because of the views and menu but they operate as separate restaurants. We didn’t make a reservation and showed up knowing we would probably have a wait. My wife went to the front desk and asked for a table for two and they were visibly hesitant or just forgot what they were there to do. They then had the audacity to ask if we realized if we were on the second floor and not on the first, as if we didn’t realize we were stepping into a 3 star Michelin restaurant that is Dukes (give me a break). We arrived at 6: 15pm and they said it would be an hour and a half wait (mind you there is no one else outside waiting) and said the table would be ready at 8: 30pm, clearly staff also suck at math so watch out on your bills. The two staff we dealt with were EDDIE and BELLA. Like I said my wife dealt with them and told me how unpleasant and unwilling they were to even take our names on the waitlist. I walked up to the desk and asked for both their names and we left and went to kukui’s next door and not even 5 minutes after sitting down got a call that our table was ready at Dukes. Like I said they have to suck at math because that wasn’t a hour and a half wait or 8: 30 pm or they realized that they were in the wrong and just were giving us a bogus time frame to not have in the restaurant. Over all would not recommend this place they think they are a “fine dining” establishment and will under deliver with slow service and a front desk staff that are either pompous or dumb, I can’t quite tell yet.

This is quintessentially the tropical beach restaurant you are going to come back to time and time again. Service has always been really good. The food is delighful, coconut shrimp hits the mark. The atmosphere is a true highlight. Outside is a lovely beach to watch airplanes land, boats set sail or the paddle boarders and snorkelers developing their skills. Inside is a tropical paradise unlike anyother.

Consistently one of the worst meals on the island paired incredible island atmosphere. Not sure how to say it any better, but the meals are absolutely forgettable. Brutal blend of incredible location blessings and squandering of a good opportunity to impress with good food commensurate to the rent this place likely has to pay. Here's to wishing them the best on improving both their menu and execution.
