Duke's Marketplace reviews
16There is not that many shops. All of them have the same stuff and is just not worth the time at all. There was many seller that where trying to immediately push you into their booth to buy the stuff. They made it very uncomfortable and weird. I saw a hat that was five dollars more than what walmart was selling it for. I was convinced this would be better but it just was not.
The market was Monday and Wednesday 4-9 many vendors inside but not local families who hand make items. There was also another alley that had even more vendors set up with one wood worker who did all his own carving, so it was not something made in a wearhouse and shipped over.
If you're looking for true locals handmade by the actual person, I was told the big island. Otherwise, the street markets are the next best thing. They had lots of fresh fruits and food!
Great place to grab a quick bite or grocery item. Coffee items sell out quickly so get there early
A hidden secret in Waikiki! Right across the street from Royal Hawaiian Centre! Much better deals on souvenirs than anywhere else and you can negotiate the prices with the vendors. You can buy everything for half the price than on those ABC stores you can find on any street corner. Highly recommend it!
Food is good here and shopping options are also good. I think it's better than Kūhiõ Ave Food Hall.
Good spection of supermarket basics, great wine selection. Take out food outlets and Basalt Restaurant and Bar
Went to OAHU ISLAND WEAR #60 in the alley and got good souvenirs shirts and dresses for people back in Dallas. The owner was super helpful and very sweet. If you buy a lot he will give you a good rate! We ended up buying 12 shirts and dresses from him because it was such a bargain (BETTER DEAL HERE THAN YOUR ABC STORE)! The material of the Hawaiian shirts are soft and nice too. Definitely recommend people going to him.
Great location from are condo, all the convenience of an ABC store and a whole lot more, bakery and hot lunch and snacks
It’s a small alley and parking is a nightmare. But I really want to rate it high because shopping in this kind of place is the best way to support small local business owner
Super convenient store / market / restaurant right across from hotels. You can purchase anything from groceries to take out. I also had THE best chicken sandwich at Spitfire, restaurant inside Duke's, very fresh and cooked to order.
Not nearly as big as it was before the Marketplace moved into an alley. Only about half (or less) stalls than there were. Still find a deal or two here if you are looking for last minute Hawaii gifts.
Nice little vendor alley for souveniers and Hawaiin made dried pineapple and mango treats. The Basalt restaurant inside the store has wonderful mai tais and tiramisu. We had a local fish dish called Opah with coconut panko dressing that was delicious. Highly recommend. Will be a couple hundred for 3 adult meals w drink and desert and tip but well worth it. Staff were great and our server Max was good fun.
I'd avoid this place. The wife and I went here one evening after the beach. We grabbed a few items.actually bartered for better prices. Felt pretty good about the prices we paid. Then we went to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet the next morning. Everything we got at Duke's Marketplace we could of got at the Swap Meet for a lot less without even haggling.
I bought a cool looking dolphin / sea turtle wood carving from one stall. Price was marked $280. She said she would sell to me for $110. I got her down to $60. I seen the exact wood carving the next morning for $25.price tagged $25. Yes, I got taken to the cleaners.
Unfortunately not too impressed but nice to walk thru and see variety of things. No where to sit if you get food from vendors.
Check out Ohana Pantry at Stall #47 for FRESH Smoked Marlin. Marlin Dip and Dry Aku. They also sell hand made resin decorative pieces, very beautiful and reasonably priced! Such an awesome way to support local, right in Waikiki. Locally owned and operated. Highly recommend!
This is big place.it has very nice restaurant, fast food shop, coffee shop and ABC store all in one inside. You will get everything you need here. Pizza at the fast food restaurant was very good. Freshly made and yummy.there are lot of food items you can eat here. Service is fast. There is not seating place for fast food restaurant, so it's mostly just pick up and eat somewhere else. Restaurant has many seating arrangement. There is a BARGAINING market just behind or I can say other end of the complex. So don't buy any gift or souvenirs from any where, you will get all from this market and you can ask for your price.:)
