E.A.R.L. Kakaako, Honolulu HI

Every time I visit Hawaii, I make it a point to stop by EARL. It never disappoints! My go-to is the French Dip, which I order every single time.

Unfortunately, it was sold out during my recent visit, so I opted for the meatball sandwich and a burger instead. Both were incredibly delicious and left me completely satisfied. Although the lemonade I also love was sold out, my experience was still top-notch.

Edit: gave this place another shot and I’m thankful I did. Ordered the Italian Sub, and the Caesar Chicken wrap. Caesar dressing was completely different than the last time, and most importantly it has parm! Great wrap, could have used less croutons or omitted them. Will ask for that next time! Good on ya EARL.

Old review: Fried chicken sandwiches were awesome, but the Caesar salad was a real bummer. Very sparse, commercial pre-made dressing with little flavor, and not even any parm on the salad. All for 16 bucks. Bummer as everything else was good. Make some house dressing, or spruce the commercial stuff up with some garlic and worcestershire sauce at least!

The Earl double burger is so amazing I've had it several times with visitors. Any of the chicken is breaded perfectly. I've had the hot and the everything chicken sandwiches and can't choose. Waffle fries are also a must. I wish I could try everything. Forget 5 Guys for smash burgers. This is the place.

Bad: waffle fries were 6/10, but that’s compared to Chick-Fil-A

Would give no stars if I could. This is the restaurant that fired me because, I had a doctor's note saying that I couldn't be around food because I was sick. I could be in public but only with a mask, but around food could possibly be a risk. Not only did this restaurant fire me because I was told by my doctor not to be around food to prevent people from getting sick; (since my doc know that I work in the restaurant industry) This boss called and fired me after I intentionally hoping to help the business came on my lunch break to buy food since! I couldn't contribute, to working so honestly out of kindness! I was going to school and working at the same time and after spending my money with my friend (who also purchased food) who I brought along with me, immediately heading back to school which I had to attend sick! I got a call during my class telling me that I was fired, I was very young at the time and I loved working here and I even begged for my job back because I would have worked if the boss asked me to but my doctor was very clear that if I worked I would get other sick and I did not want to do that! I was wearing a covid mask before there was even covid due to the sickness. And although the mask prevented people around me from getting sick if I were to start touching surfaces in my job there's a chance that I could have gotten someone sick which is why I was very cautious when I was out in public and why I had a doctor's note from my doctor. But the heartless owner fired me. If you want to go to this restaurant for taste their food does taste good I can't take anything away from that they have bacon jam delicious! But do they care for their employees? No, not the female black ones no, no, they don't! Used to love this place.

This place is top notch. I work in town often so I get lost in Kakaako on purpose so I can frequent this place! I’ve tried so many of their sandwiches and have never been disappointed. Also, I own a local junk removal business and my guy love stopping here for lunch. I highly recommend!

10/10. We have been looking for a good sandwich shop on island for so long! I ordered the earls cheese steak and my husband ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich both with fries and they were absolutely amazing. Even after a 1 hour drive to the beach the sandwiches were still fresh & the chicken was still crispy! The fries are delicious BUT that house made ketchup was the best I've ever had! Such a good spot! Plus they're the only place ive found my favorite chips from childhood:)

I previously rated this sandwich shop with 5 enthusiastic stars. I hadn't been for a while, and this time I was severely disappointed in the food. They have always been consistent about flavor balance, especially between the bread and the filling. The crunchy, crusty, french bread is gone. Now it's a basic white roll. And there was so much vinaigrette on my Italian sandwich that I couldn't taste the meat. It was soggy. So much for balance. At the price I expect more. Going back to Subway.

Mr. Earl gets a 10/10 from me always. Chicken Box amazing, firebird chicken sandwich amazing, Earl Double burger spectacular. Earl sauce.god sent. Love this place.

Seems like they're under new management or something. Totally different menu, and the holdover menu items are not as good as they used to be. I used to love this place so pretty disappointing: (

I would give it 5 stars, but they discontinued my go to sandwich the "DREW" (pastrami). That sandwich was 10 stats. What were they thinking?

This Vietnamese sandwich was bigger than it looked. I ordered French dip and Pho boy, but the french dip was average, and I recommend Pho boy! It's a spicy and sweet chicken sandwich and I want to eat it again! Haha
I wish they would add a meal menu that includes fries and drinks instead of chips!

Quite a volume!

The potatoes were a bit too salty and felt too salty for Japanese people.
I recommend the avocado banh mi. The sour and slightly tangy creamy sauce and vegetables were very delicious! ! It's only vegetables so you can feel refreshed even if you eat it all

I want to eat it again and try to imitate it at home
