El Jalisciense reviews
12The beef birria tacos were so good! The meat so so tender and the cheese matched so well. The tortilla was so flavorful as well. The Al pastor tacos were good as well but the birria was more memorable. The onions and lime on both added good freshness. Come on taco Tuesday for their deals!
Very good tasting Mexican food and friendly service with seating next to food truck but also expensive. Birria Tacos and Mangoniada came out to 24$ and it was only 2 very tasty and packed but small tacos with bland rice and beans. Other items on the menu may be better value.
As a Mexican myself, I definitely mark this place as one of the best Mexican places on island. The food was prepared fast, it was delicious, and it was very true to what it should taste like. Overall a great experience. Se les agradezco!
I was blown away by how good the tacos were here! The birria and beef tacos were so tasty and so were the quesadillas. Highly recommended to refuel after a shopping spree at Waikele Outlet stores.
The lady helping us was such a sweet lady! The food was okey, the tacos was very good! However the beans and rice was pretty bland and could have used some salt. There are very few seating arrangements, but we came late and had no issues sittning down. Overall, average mexican.
The cashier was talking on her phone and there was no greeting. She seemed reluctant to describe the menu. She did not smile during the whole transaction. The beef was burned and dry. The quesadilla was ok. They sell 3 inch tacos for the price of a 6 inch. The truck needs cleaning up on the outside and a new coat of paint. The windows are dirty and covered with odd looking towels
Got a vegetarian burrito. I feel like I could have used some hot sauce/ salsa on the side, and maybe a little more somethin. Consider some potatoes and soyrizo of some sort. You got the rice and beans and guac down. Hot sauce definitely would have helped, and melty cheese. The flavor profiles on point here, and the people are great. Just a little improvising in burrito wrapping and for the veggies please
Was told this is the best Mexican food on the island so we sought this place out when we were in the vicinity. This Mexican food is Jalisco style which usually means that the food is more soupier than traditional. If the flavors aren't there than its just a sloppy mess. Fortunately this food had a lot of flavor. There's a lot of Mexican joints I still haven't tried but up to this point I would say it's top tier. My only suggestion would be to replace the flour tortillas. They aren't freshly handmade and they really take away from the actual food inside. The food portions are what you would expect for the price. The staff is friendly and we were able to find shade at a nearby table.
My sister told me about this place, I have been having huge pregnancy cravings for a good burrito. My sister said they were really good here. Drove all the way here and they closed an hour early. It’s so hard to support local business when they ALWAYS do this. It’s so unprofessional. I won’t be back.
Hands down the best Mexican food in Hawaii. I am from California & now that I live in Maui there is nothing I miss more than authentic Mexican food. I discovered Jalisciense at least 6 years ago & now I can’t visit Oahu without getting my fix.
Such a hidden gem! 99% of the Mexican spots in Hawaii are awful but this place is fantastic. Tastes exactly like what I used to get in California!
Some of the worst food I ate was came asada fries…seems they only have pepper for seasoning…tasted like ground beef grease and pepper even if good ingredients were in this it was just made like -1 on a 1-10 quality prepared. I had to force myself to eat it…I don’t think even with adding seasoning would help eliminate all the grease and taste of grease…it got less tasty as I ate it…a good dish of this I could of eaten in 1/4 the time…it wasn’t awful but I could understand If someone else thought it was. It sure wasn’t anywhere near good taste.
Either a failure or a successful bad dish.
