Frida's Hawaii reviews
19We usually go to the Mexican restaurant at Kamakana Mall, but Frieda's came recommended by a friend. We came to try it out on a Friday and the food came out super quickly with warm chips out of the oven as well. This Mexican restaurant is now my go-to spot when I'm craving Mexican. I had the Birria tacos and OMG. Sooooooooooo good. The beans and rice were also spot on. They are BYOB so we brought a cooler full of Coronas. Perfect Friday night!
Grandkids had a good time on dinner date with Grandma. And Baskin Robbins a couple doors away - children loved outing. Special
Great food. Rare to find good Mexican food in Hawaii, but this place hit the spot. Small place with only a few tables but great flavor and very friendly staff. I liked the pastor tacos very much. I would come back any time.
Ordered via UberEats for delivery to hotel. Specifically asked for utensils, but they were omitted. Sigh.
Not what I was looking for, but I'm very happy I found this! Had some tacos and they were absolutely amazing! Not like any tacos I've had before - I could really taste the authenticity! And the customer service is unmatched! Definitely recommend!:)
Loved it! It must be the best Mexican food on Oahu. So good we’re going back tomorrow night. Birria tacos are amazing.
As far as Hawaii Mexican food goes (it's usually mediocre and overpriced), it was great. The Frida nachos were an awesome appetizer for the table. The birria quesadilla was good, but the meat lacked seasoning for my taste. However, the consome (broth) was delicious. I would recommend getting a wet burrito, I had half and half sauce. However, the green sauce was very absent, but the red sauce was very very good. The horchata was good, and if you get a plate combo, the rice is excellent, I enjoyed it very much. I did hope to have tried their esquites (corn in a cup), but I was very much full at the end of my meal, meaning the portions were great, although still a bit overpriced, compared to other Mexican food places on the island this place is above them, the service is also very good. I'll definitely come back and hopefully try their esquites next time.
If you want good traditional Mexican food, this is one of the better places to be on the island. The only reason why I didn't give it a five star is because there were certain Mexican dishes that I wanted that they did not provide. Other than that the food was pretty tasty. The service was fast and friendly. And the environment was pretty chill.
Service is incredible! They even remember our order when we come back the next because we can't remember what we like. Everything is made fresh! Including the salsa. We love this place so much we even take visitors to the island there We love the pulled pork, Street tacos, carne asada, enchiladas, etc. Everything we've tried has been really fresh and tasty.
Delicious Sopas and flaunts dish. Fantastic servers and nice festive atmosphere. I have been bac 2times this week!
Been coming here for while, as a mexican girl from houston it’s hard to find real authentic mexican food in hawaii. This is the only place i’ve genuinely liked so far.the tortillas are soft, the spanish rice is perfectly fluffy, the dishes are authentic and delicious. I’ve tried so many other mexican restaurants on island and nothing compares to this.i come here so often, the senora knows mine and my boyfriends order when we come. This restaurant is owned by the nicest people.food reminds me of my abuelitas and parents food.
One of the best Mexican restaurants on the island's big portion and the food is delicious
We are here at least once a month (sometimes twice) that I believe the owner now knows us. We are originally from Los Angeles and have moved here to the island and it’s true, quality Mexican food here on island is hard to come by. This place has got to be the closest thing we have had. Very good! The only thing I would have to say is I don’t like the peas in the ground beef and it seems like they stuff the burritos more with the rice than the meat. Excellent friendly service. We enjoy every time we come by
Great food and kind people when I visited. I recommend this restaurant as an alternative to the many "local" places in Hawaii.
I ordered via telephone and gave estimated time of 15 minutes. On my arrival about 1145 AM the restaurant was very slow (2 customers) besides I beat the lunch time crowd and left happy with my orders
This is my third time eating at Frida’s. As always the food is amazing and the service is outstanding. Very friendly and professional staff. My go to Mexican food on the island.
Excellent. Everything is Freshly made and made to order. Service is Wonderful, Food is Outta this world Deliciousness.
I'm from south Texas and I've been out here on oil business since November. I have been to a lot of Mexican joints on the island and this is by far the closest to TexMex I have found. (Its also nice to hear Spanish again, reminds me a little of home.)
I was hosting a large event for the company I'm working for and the fajitas they delivered were fantastic and done on very short notice.
I highly recommend this place.
The food here was amazing! The best Hispanic restaurant on Island by far! It has a great atmosphere and is kid friendly as well! I highly recommend trying it out!
