17This restaurant is the best! All their locations are awesome. This one especially. The severs are super nice and very helpful. Especially David! Super handsome and sweet. Sit at his table if you can.
We go often.since not too many other sushi options around. Portions seem to be shrinking while prices are going up. Overall food quality is good. However.if you're looking for value for your money.go somewhere else. Too bad Sushi Bay doesn't have a Honolulu location.they're the best.
The menu here has a few more things than done if the newer locations with the fancy computer. Food is always pretty good. Service at this location could be a little better but it's usually pretty good.
Literally eat at Genki Sushi almost once a week at different locations. This one is by far the WROST. Also, bad customer service, the fish meat is not fresh. And OMG, the restroom is sooooo DISGUSTING! If a restaurant has a really bad unsanitary restroom, how GROSS THE KITCHEN GONNA BE! PLEASE DONT COME TO THIS ONE!
Inattentive staff (the resturant had 5 tables occupied) that seemed overwhelmed with only a few customers. It took forever for our waitress to take our order. We had to flag her down to put in our order. I love going to Genki sushi but this location was terrible.
Honestly one of the worst sushi restaurants I have ever eaten at. I have eaten sushi in Japan, all over the USA and in Singapore and yet this sushi was the worst I have ever eaten. I have eaten gas station sushi that tasted better. The soft shell crab roll tasted like dirty crab, the chicken katsu tastes like it was cooked in 10 day old grease and all the food was clearly not fresh or the best cut of fish. 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE
Amazing place! Service was fast and knowledgeable. Good for a quick lunch or satisfying meal. Will definitely be coming back
It was amazing and you can taste the freshness in the food. From the warm welcome to the food everything was amazing. Even the owner was working with a smile and very friendly made the experience worth looking for

***NOT IMPRESSED*** First time coming here, it was my daughter's birthday and she was really looking forward to trying this place. Although we were seated promptly, we had to ask on several occasions how much longer before we recieved any type of food. Finally recieved edamame but it was cold. I asked for the side of white rice we ordered and we were informed that they ran out of white rice. I asked what was immediately available and was told miso soup and salads. Ordered 3 miso soups but it did not taste good. After being seated for over 45 minutes and seeing others that arrived way after us getting their orders. I inquired once again and we were told that our order had not yet been started. My wife immediately canceled the order. We would've appreciated honesty from the beginning. ***WOULD NOT RECOMMEND***
If you love Genki but DON'T want a 2-hour wait, don't forget Ward Center! Ordering is old school off the menu (no conveyor) and they have condiment packs for COVID compliance but unlike other locations they aren't using packets for shoyu, wasabi etc. (which is better imo). Come give these guys business!
Horrible service. Sat there for 15 mins and no one came to take orders. Left the place disgusted. Servers were so inexperienced. Need training for sure.
Some of the workers need better customer service skills. They always seem to have different rules with giving discounts.my sister had a filled rewards card that discounted a black plate and she has a military ID for a 10% discount of her bill. Her total bill was over $25 before the black plate discount.her final bill came out to $22 something and when she gave her Military ID she couldn't use it. They said it was 1 or the other and that she couldn't combine the discount. I tried to explain that was not correct. The filled card is a rewards card that is filled upon purchase and should not be considered a discount. IT IS A REWARD! Her military ID provides her a discount that THEY offer. Bottom line, she spent alot and it is good business to provide Customer service. Besides, where is their so called policy.
This is a fantastic sushi restaurant. The prices are really awesome, everything is incredibly fresh. They have a lot of creative variety and the best part is the portions. Each roll isn't insane huge so you can order and try a lot of variety. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved everything from this place.
Service is good and the people are friendly. I just miss grabbing plates from the conveyor belt. You have to order verbally from the server. It's not fine dining sushi but it's good at a reasonable price.
I ordered a pick up through the phone, and the guy that answered was so grumpy and I could barely hear and understand what he was saying. I’ve never had a problem with this genki but this guy had totally poor and unacceptable customer service.
No conveyor right now due to COVID19. Staff is very diligent on health and customer service. Food is like other Genkis.
Vegan tip: miso soup, eggplant fry and string beans w/o mayo, rayu or ocean salad tofu, furikake fries, vegetable tempura and most of the makis are all vegan
