Gilligan's Beach Shack reviews
18The best shrimp and mahi mahi and it’s in walking distance of HHV and Ala Mona park, only down side is cash only
Who would've thought our best meal would be from a food truck? Well it was.phenomenal shrimp
I have been in the hilton right next to dukes lagoon for about 5 days already and the Gilligans truck is nowhere to be seen, very disappointing i think they are out of business because they did not respond to ther email i sent also
Coconut shrimp are crispy, and local drinks were good. Coleslaw was refreshing. We loved the atmosphere on the beach. He had good service as well. I would suggest walking to the lagoon and leaning back on a palm tree while watching the water. I would come again if I lived closer.
I went to this food truck and ordered a mahi mahi with garlic shrimp and fries plate lunch and it was so disgusting I ended up giving it away to a homeless person. The mahi mahi was so dry and the food tasted like it came out of a bag then deep fried. They definitely don’t make things from scratch and on top of that the lady that served me the food was so rude I asked her “where are my utensils and napkins” she replied with a unpleasant face “Look inside your plate lunch” so she jammed all the utensils and my napkin in the plate lunch so my napkin was all dirty from the food” never again will I go to this food truck.
The man that works in the truck was super rude and disrespectful. Not a company I’m trying to support.
Can't wait to go back, shrimp was delicious, shoestring fries were cooked to perfection! 7
We had the most delicious count shrimp and garlic shrimp. The Mahi Mahi was super yummy as well!
The steak has a good flavor. I dont get shrimp. They are fast, good amount of fries. What can you complain about? Your in Hawaii on Waikiki
Good food, quick service, friendly staff. Don't waste your time going to Giavannis at the North Shore. This shack is ten fold better. Thanks for the great experience John!
Great food truck, got the fish and chips it was really good. Didn't have to wait long. Only thing was no seating to sit down so we just ate it on the beach. Great spot!
Instead of grilled garlic shrimp you get 6pc microwaved shrimp with lots of fries and scoop of shredded cabbage. Not worth the $15
Probably the worst tacos we’ve had on this vacation yet. The fish mahi is very fishy, the shrimp is chewy and they cover it in pace picante sauce. I know pace when I taste it and it’s my least favorite store bought salsa ever. The tacos were about 65% cole slaw (not fresh), 25% picante sauce and 5% fish/shrimp. It was the closest food to where we were but do yourself a favor and walk down the beach about 25 minutes and get something else.
John made some Cod tacos for us. Not on the menu! It was absolutely amazing! 10 out of 10. Super friendly with a very fast and clean set up. Shave ice is on point as well!
We bought surf and turf and loved it. The teriyaki beef was slightly seared and crispy on the edges with excellent seasoning. The garlic shrimps were tender and juicy, not overly coated with excellent flavor. Tails were on. Heads were off. The super thin French fries were delightful - crispy and not overly powering for the meal - were both enjoyed these a lot and wish more French fries were like this. The Cole slaw was perfect tart/sweet and added nicely to the lunch. We ate right there, watching surfers, swimmers and the locals hanging in there parking lot.
We have walked by here during many trips, but in the future, we will stop and order the yummy food!
We grabbed some shave ice while we were laying out on the beach. They sell the traditional crushed ice sno-cones. You know, the kind where all the syrup goes straight to the bottom of the cup. They call it shave ice but it is NOT HAWAIIAN SHAVE ICE.
Perfect locations and delicious coconut shrimp!
The shack is right as you enter the beach area. The staff are courteous and quick to make the food, we waited 10 min for 4 big meals. We got some chairs and umbrellas and ate on the beach. The fisherman's platter was enough to share between 2 people.
