HALE KAI RESTAURANT reviews
14I loved eating at this spot during my stay at the Fairmont Orchid. There’s no requirement for a reservation, which I appreciated since I was jet lagged and was not certain about a dinner time for myself early in the trip. It has a great view of the ocean. The food came out fast and each meal was delicious! Jackie was my server each night, and he was awesome. The service was swift, fun, and he had great recommendations. Had Ono fish the first night and fish tacos the second night. Food was fresh and very tasty. Definitely recommend going here!
Amazing views from this beach restaurant! Jordan served us and was friendly and attentive! Our food came very quick. Who doesn't love a signature Mai Tai and some Mahi Mahi fish tacos! Great way to kick off an amazing vacation! I have met Jose behind the bar several times and always check in to see how he's doing. He makes you feel at home and like family. Jose is an amazing person.
Service was lacking. We had to go to the host stand to ask for our receipt because we didn’t see the server for a while.
Food is OK at best, but overpriced. Lobster fried rice dry. Fish and chips not that tasty. Flys everywhere. Couldn't enjoy our food until other patrons got their food so Flys could attack them.
We ended up eating here many times during our week long stay at the Fairmont Orchid. Service was always amazing and the view over lunchtime was great. We loved the fish sandwich and the burger was great as well. The chicken banh mi was alright but would recommended the burger or fish sandwich instead.
Very nice, love the location
Great to sit outside beachfront
Great service excellent waitstaff
We travelled from Kailua to try this place, and it’s completely disappointing and not worth the drive or money. The food is bland and overpriced and you get the $20 cocktails in plastic cups. The fish sandwich was so bland that I could not finish it, and I would have expected far better service and quality considering it’s a fairmont. Skip this place and go to a good restaurant in Waikoloa village or Kailua. To be honest, probably the worst meal and service I’ve had on the island. Only went here because a friend recommended it, and I won’t come back. I expect far better from a fairmont resort. This felt like a bad resort in Mexico and the hostess was incredibly rude.
Overpriced, waited 30 minutes for a seat while there were many vacant seats available. The staff is welcoming and nice, the food though is mediocre at best hardly better than McDonalds.
Don’t come here. Incredibly uptight server with an attitude, and policed our family when our 19 year old was casually sipping from the pina colada that we ordered legally. Never experienced a server this uptight, and it’s not like the menu is priced cheaply contrarily. The manager on the other hand was very kind and professional. Still not worth the trip
Great views and nice staff. Way overpriced for the food quality. The food was bland at best.
Expensive! Good. Fish and chips are extremely good! The NY strip is fantastic! Cant go wrong here if you are staying at the resort.
Experience unfortunately not so good. We wanted to have dinner on our evening of arrival and certainly did not feel welcome. The waitress asked for our phone number to inform us when a table would be ready even if multiple tables were vacant. We highlighted that we were tired and just quickly wanted to eat… still had to wait for another 10 minutes where nothing happened to the vacant tables. Food was kind ok okay but certainly not more. We did not feel welcome as hotel guests
Walk up to the bar and get food to go. This was great for my 12 year old as they have kids options like chicken tenders and burgers. That’s all we really had here.
The wings are almost an entire half a bird.but not easy to eat. Decent drinks, nice atmosphere, and great staff. Definitely expensive for what you get with the food.
