Meticulously kept building right on the water. Exceptional location with breathtaking sunsets nightly. Watch the whales as they pass. Highly recommend this building.

Great place in West Maui with killer views and close to everything. Stayed in units 415 with a direct ocean view from the top floor and unit 101, a cool ground floor unit with a private garden view.

It was a really great place! You can see and hear the ocean from your condo. The views were fantastic! A beautiful place with a swimming pool; everything very peaceful. I would definitely recommend Hale Ono Loa for your next vacation. You won't be disappointed. I will be going back really soon!

Unit: 407,5 day rental, roughly $1500, mid May. Host was fantastic, room was immaculate, plenty of beach supplies. Overall, no complaints. Air conditioning truly not needed. Elevator and dollies to help you get stuff to the room. Wonderful beachfront views from the ocean facing units. Found my rental on VRBO.

Rented unit 409 for the views and we're not disappointed at all. Turtles come daily afternoon, steps to water for snorkeling (rocks, no beach). We saw a seal and whales as well mid-April from the lanai.

Since it faces west, sunny and warm in evening but cools down quickly due to breeze. Unit has sun screens on the lanai if desired and fans in rooms which was more than adequate for us. This is probably the best unit in the complex from a location perspective.

Shower is awesome and second bath has jet tub. Pools is nice too though not heated (9ft max).

Suitable for family of 4, close to beach and local market, coffee shop, 5 mins walk

Food truck park, restaurants, large market, urgent care, gas station within 10 mins walk

So there is good news and bad news about this place (we were unit 111).

Good news: the shower. Seriously. In my 40-and-change years alive this was the best shower. The kitchen was clean and modern, with pretty much all the tools you could reasonably want during a stay. The porch had a fan and had a nice view. Finally, the location was convenient with nice views.

Bad news: ocean front… NOT beach front. Rocky steps lead to powerful waves. This seems obvious after reading the description and seeing it, but I felt like that detail was kind of buried. Next, the unit next door is being remodeled. Like, dirt floor and no walls inside remodeled. It’s a clearly huge project that takes time, so if you’re around early-mid 2022, see if you can determine if it’s been finished or not. If not, be prepared for LOUD construction sounds early and throughout the day. Next, they couldn’t find my parking pass and couldn’t figure out how to get me a replacement so I spent the week worried if I would get towed because the residents… well, that brings me to my last point. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “Karen’s”. The people above us CALLED THE PROPERTY MANAGER ON US because they thought we were vaping at the pool (it was an asthma inhaler). They yelled at my daughter for going over the 3-foot tall ledge from our porch to the pool because we forgot the key - one time. They crept past our porch and looked inside to make sure (I’m assuming) we weren’t, I dunno, destroying the place? So weird. It made us avoid spending time there and definitely not using the pool as we felt we were being watched.

Anyway, nice spot, adequate facilities, freaking awesome shower and brutal neighbors.

Stayed here while in Maui via Airbnb. Decent place within walking distance of restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here through VRBO. Excellent location and we'd consider it again based on location. However: The electrical in our room was very jumbled with strange locations and remotes to control various fixtures. Drawers were broken or couldn't be opened based on layout. The main light in the room would not stay on. But the worst was the lack of blackout curtains in the bedroom with strong LED lights outside the window. This made it near impossible to sleep at night if you're light sensitive. We tried to cover it with several layers of grocery bag paper, but the light still shone through.

So, we definitely liked the location, but would be far more cautious about what room we stay in again. We give the complex 3 stars since we haven't stayed in other rooms. The room we stayed in was 1 star.

Nice old school place. Very well cared for grounds and pool with amazing views from every lanai. It would be perfect if it had its own beach.

Perfect view! Great location. Great facilities. Only down side was the lack of a beach (at least in October and when I checked) but with the location, plenty of rocky beaches within walking or easy driving distance.

Great place to stay, we stayed in 409, the view to the ocean is incredible! The unit is kind of cramped for four people (even though it’s 2 bedrooms) but really no complaints on that. My biggest issue was the unit gets HOT in the afternoon, the lanai is large so you get a lot of sun but there’s a giant windows facing west that gets a lot of heat in the afternoon.

Honestly, I’d stay here again, just a different unit. Maybe, the ocean view is hard to beat.

We stayed at #116 Jon Benedict is the owner. I highly recommend his place. His attention to detail is off the charts. If you need it Jon has it. I always stay with him in Maui. He is the best!

Very clean place. Upkeep seems great. Next to ocean. Stairs are slippery to the ocean, be careful. Pool is on point.
