Hanakoa Falls Trail Head reviews
5Make sure you have a trail map to reference because the sign points to the trail prematurely and will lead you on an upriver journey more difficult and time-consuming than you most likely have time for
Incredible trekking, the most beautiful I have ever done.
You must have an optimal level of fitness and appropriate footwear since there are uneven areas with rocks and you also have to cross the river several times.
There are no heights or steep slopes in case you suffer from vertigo.
Bringing plenty of water and food is enough.
It took us 5 hours and 30 minutes to reach the waterfall itself.
Highly recommended!
This trail is for experienced hikers. It was very challenging. You will go through lots of rocks, cross through water and mud a few times and it’s 4 miles to the base of the water fall an additional 1.5 to the actual water fall. The last mile is all rock climbing but when you get there it’s absolutely beautiful! I swam in the water and it’s freezing cold. Round trip it was 11.1 miles and it took us 8 hours. There are several spots along the way that offer amazing views and photo opportunities.
It is a very nice waterfall, however trail itself very unpleasant, muddy and difficult. Not worth it.
Top trail. Gorgeous and fewer crowds than at the beach. 8-9 miles and relatively flat. It's not as bad as the other reviews will tell you, you can do it and it's worth it!
