Hanalei Bay Resort, Princeville HI

The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. The grounds are beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the many orchids. The views from our room in the Bougainvillea building were gorgeous and the sunsets from Pu'u Poa Beach below the resort were awe-inspiring.

This resort is beautiful! I love the view. The staff here are very nice and helpful. Will definitely come back again and bring my tennis racket (because they have 8 large tennis courts, if I remember the number correctly)

Our stay at Hanalei Bay Resort was perfect. We traveled with 3 boys ages, 10,12,15. We had ole Ty of space for everyone in the condo and we’re never cramped. We spent our dinners on the patio and enjoyed the view of the sunset. Hanalei bay offered us ease, convenience, space and entertainment. The staff was great and very attentive and nice.

We love Hanalei Bay Resort. This was our 3rd time staying here and it was the best yet. The views from our balcony were incredible and the hospitality was top-notch. We received calls before our visit and texts during to make sure we were as happy as possible. This feels like home away from home.

My wife and I traveled to Kauai for our honeymoon and it was nothing short of amazing. The island is beautiful, the people are kind/friendly, and the Hanalei Bay Resort took care of us better than any resort I’ve ever been too (and I’ve been all around the world traveling).

The view from the Guava building is breathtaking, the grounds are beautifully well-kept, and the staff is extremely friendly!

We had to leave our 6 year old behind, in Michigan, as we traveled for a romantic getaway honeymoon; however, we can confidently say that we will be returning (not only to Kauai, but also to Hanalei Bay Resort)!

Have stayed here twice through an exchange network trading my week in Puerta Vallarta. The first time I came here was with my best friend in 2017, it blew our minds. Returned a couple of weeks ago with my 2 adult daughters and my 2 best friends (Aug 2022). Mind is still blown at how phenomenal this place is.
The unit is gorgeous with 2 full sized bedroom suites with each having their own bathroom. The views are absolutely stunning (and those words don’t even convey how breathtaking it is). The staff are wonderful and so responsive. The restaurant on location serves delicious meals and fantastic drinks. They also have nightly entertainment with top notch local talent. Very impressed. The pool and hot tub are tropically themed and well taken care of with waterfalls and a natural setting.
Getting down to the beach is a little bit of a trek but they provide a staff member to take you down by golf cart and picked up if you want that. I personally love the walk down and though the hike back up the hill is a bit of a workout, it’s burning those Lappert ice cream calories away.:)
I can’t wait to go back and I’ve just gotten home from the trip.

Just amazing. I highly recommend this resort. One of best in Kauai. The location is beautiful, there is private bay access, pool and spa. Beautiful sunset views. Location is gorgeous with both mountain and ocean views.

From the moment we arrived on property we were in paradise. Staff was welcoming and helpful. We stayed in condo #4321 & 4322 which we will definitely be back. It’s clean, up to date with a cool island vibe. This condo had the amenities of any 5 star resort we’ve stayed at. We loved it and it’s very spacious. The kitchen is fully loaded, electric drapes throughout, high quality towels, bedding and the most comfortable bed that we didn’t want to leave. This a true gem, we would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Stayed here last week of June '22 (second time in 4 years). Room was lovely with perfect view. However, the large restaurant on site remains closed. And the pool bar now is also closed - no mention of this on booking. Sports Bar / restaurant is open but extremely busy and bar staff were incredibly rude. It appears the resort itself and the bar are operated by 2 different companies who cannot agree on anything. Paying guests are stuck in the middle of this bickering between the 2, PAYING customers who, without them, you have no jobs at all. Do better hotel and bar management, work this out like adults, please! Not sure we will be back considering how appalling we were treated by the bar staff.

This is the crown jewel of Hanalei. Gorgeous property with lush landscaping and jungle beach tropical vibe. We loved it so much we bought a timeshare here too. We just got home and already planning our trip back. Great spot

Honestly, I had read mixed reviews on this resort but it could not have exceeded my expectations. We exchanged a week on our timeshare with this location so the only problem I saw were people arriving that didn’t understand it was a timeshare. Not sure what the issue was but we did not experience any issues. The ground and pool were well-maintained and absolutely gorgeous. The views were the best in our visits to three islands! The staff were accommodating and the restaurant food and drinks were five star. Our room was clean and well decorated. We want to come back again soon and we are seasoned travelers!

Pros: Beautiful location! Rooms very nice, great kitchen. Walk down to cove for great sunset!
Cons: Not handicap friendly at all - stairs, no elevator. Pool bar "closed indefinitely" says sign. Restaurant/bar closed Sun/Mon. No EV hookup; only one on the north part of the island is in the back of a grocery store a few miles away.

We overall had a good time at Hanalei Bay Resort, but it did have its pros and cons. Pros - Gwen at the front desk was so wonderful from the moment we checked in til the moment we left. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The rooms we had were very large and we had access to two lanais. The pool was spread out so we had our own little space to relax. The location was great, just a quick drive to a few nice spots and Hanalei. Access to hanalei bay. The golf cart rides up from the beach were nice.
Cons - we had ants in our room and terrible water pressure when showering. We tried to have dinner on site, but the wait was super long the night we tried and they were closed the rest of our stay. The restaurant didn't offer take-out. The pool bar was closed. There was construction going on down by the beach, which was a huge eye sore. While the location is beautiful, the area restaurants were all super long waits. When we checked in we were a little disappointed and confused about our ground floor room, which didn't offer the best view. After we were in our room for awhile I got a call from the front desk offering us a better view, which I was super excited about, but then they said we couldn't have it because we'd already unpacked our things in our room. I'm not really sure why they had called to offer when they knew we'd been in our room awhile. I kind of appreciated it while being slightly annoyed knowing that they did have a great view for us, we just couldn't have it. Also when we came back to the resort late at night there was never any parking available, even though we had to pay daily parking fees.

We own 2 weeks here at Hanalei Bay. We have the opportunity to exchange it for weeks in other locations. We have a couple of times, but always feel like this is Ohana when we return and have no real desire to go anywhere else. The beauty of the island, the resort and the north shore is incomparable!

It is an AMAZING place, so beautiful & the staff is so efficient & nice. HOWEVER, only having 1 place to eat on site, that is only open starting at 3 pm & for only 5 out of 7 days, is a disappointment. I came here prior & the swim up bar & other restaurant were great & made things convenient. This trip since there was only The Happy Talk Bar & Lounge to eat at it made it that we absolutely had to rent a car so we can go get food. But besides that…. It’s an amazing resort.

- this is not a resort. There are no amenities that you expect from a hotel resort:
- no umbrellas for an area that is constantly raining, no beach chairs available, no daily dining, no bath robes or slippers available, paid parking that’s far from the rooms.
- worst part was the customer service. The front desk people were all extremely rude and not customer friendly. We had issues with our bill that took hours to resolve with no resolution and no attempts to make it right for us.
- the people driving golf carts never offered to help us with luggage while we shlepped our stuff back and forth the long and steep walks
- the island is beautiful but this was the worst place I’ve stayed more so for the lack of customer service vs the lack of basic amenities

This is a beautifully located resort in Princeville with awesome views of the green lush mountains scattered across the faces of emerald green peaks are pristine waterfalls.
Sunrise and Sunsets start your day and ends your paradise day with a heart warming array of magical colors.
The pool is connected to a cozy lava rock hot tub neighboring a private hidden lagoon.
Definitely a must see and or experience.

From the moment we walked in the service from the staff was amazing. We rented directly from an owner and didn't feel that the staff treated us any differently. Luckily we were located in the first building on the 3rd floor so we could easily access our car and room without having to make a long walk or take the shuttle/golf car. The views from our lanai were truly amazing. The grill area is very popular so get there early but the guests and staff keep the area well cleaned. We enjoyed grilling steak and potatoes pool side with an amazing view. We didn't make it to the beach until our last day but it was great. It's small but has great views, perfect for swimming and snorkeling or just chillin'. The amenities were great and we didn't even use them all. Our favorite was the hot tub with sand on the ground. I would definitely come back and bring our daughter.

Amazing resort. Rooms are clean and big. Pool was awesome. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Snorkeling is walking distance. And the location is just a quick drive to town if you want to hit up the grocery store or restaurants and shop.

This resort was amazing, the view from any of the buildings is great and it is peaceful, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony when we're not swimming in the bay. Accommodations are very roomy and clean. They provide beach towels so need to pack those and you can exchange them for fresh ones everyday if you need to. The pool is beautiful and a great option if you have had enough sand and surf for the day. It is quiet after 10pm and you can really enjoy having your patio doors open and sitting out enjoying the night air.
