It is next to a state/county base yard and if you have the cabins closest to the yard and vehicles can hear them at 530/6 every morning as the sound carries. Otherwise it is perfectly located if you want to enjoy Hapuna Beach. There are bathrooms and showers making this a great option for glamping.

"Strategically located inside the best wind tunnel on the island, where you can experience sustained winds of 30mph with gusts up to 40mph for several days at a time"

If you can deal with giant cockroaches, scorpions, little meal bugs, cattepillars, centepedes (which sting) and other creepy crawlies, this could be the spot for you. Cabins 1-3 we're rescreened in May, 2019. We always bring 2 kinds of raid (the cockroach/crawling insect one and the hornet/scorpion one) and spray the door threshold, holes in walls, and the bathrooms when we arrive and every other day. Also bring good camping mats. The bathrooms sometimes have warmish showers but bring your own soap and wear sandals. We also bring a fan as the breeze can die down right around bed time. Bring your own coolers to store your food in the big shared kitchen as well. Also be sure to keep a copy of your permit for self check in. It has your cabin number and the door code on it (the door code is the first four digits of your permit #). Easy walk to the beach from your cabin as well as access to the coast trail in both directions. All in all a great value for the location.

The cabins only have solid walls about three feet up, then wire mesh, so not much privacy. The beds are just benches, maybe 2-3 feet wide. Lots of traffic noise through the night from the nearby highway. Nice to be near Hapuna but wouldn’t stay here again unless they up the shaka
