Hawaii Ocean Rafting Whale Watch and Snorkel, Lahaina HI

We had a wonderful time with Linda and Danielle. They were very knowledgeable about the North Pacific population of humpback whales and their annual migration to the Maui strait. We got to see two whales during this early part of the season but our guides kept with the whales (at a respectful distance) and provided ample entertainment for our boat audience.

Val and Country were great! Tons of information and fun to whale watch with! We parked at the Cannery - near Longs Drugs - walked out of the parking lot and to the left at the street. Walked up and over a bridge and the check in was just to the right - near Snorkel Bob’s. We were on the 7am tour so check in was 6: 30 and this was in the dark. 7am tour was great! It’s early but the temps were perfect and what a way to catch the sunrise! They had Bonine (motion sickness) available for sale, if you forget yours, like I did. Not sure if I needed it or if taking it worked, but I didn’t have any issues on the water. FYI - footwear was removed while boarding, bare foot tour. Would go again!

I took my family of 6 (2 kids - 3 & almost 5) on the 12/11 7am trip and we had a blast. I knew it was early season so I came in with zero expectations.

Captain Jack and Val were so informative and great guides. We saw a mama and her calf + got to hear/see a male whale song right under the boat!

Hawaii Ocean Rafting is the only company on the west side that takes 3 year olds out on the rafts if you have littles. Shoutout to Makai Adventures for recommending Hawaii Ocean Rafting to me.

Captain Jack and Val made our tour a fun experience. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable. They located a pod pretty quickly and we enjoyed getting to see about 5 whales on a shorter 90 minute tour. We would highly recommend them.

The ultimate whale watch! My adventure today surpassed expectations. Captain Jack and Val made the day. At first introduction, they gentlemanly helped each of us into the boat. After a short safety briefing, they headed out to look for whales. Both of them were extremely knowledgeable about whales and their behaviors. It was mentioned that Val had a degree in marine science and Captain Jack had years of experience. They had found some whales earlier in the day and returned to the same area. Sure enough, they spotted them again and keeping the required distance rode slowly alongside the whales. They continually explained the whales behaviors and answered all questions. I feel that had I been out on one of the large boats, I would not have had nearly as personal and close up of an experience. Thank you. Al and Captain Jack.

What a wonderful experience! Such a cheery and knowledgeable crew. Learned a lot and enjoyed some beautiful whale sightings. Would highly recommend this tour!

Whale watching was such a unique experience with Val & Jack. Great views, fun facts, & the whales did not disappoint. If you are on the fence, just book it you won’t regret it. Would definitely do this again!:)

Country and Val were the best guides and took us to the perfect spot. It was honestly the most magical experience I’ve ever had on a boat, we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins and four humpbacks whales and one came right up to the boat. Country and Val were also so knowledgeable and fun, I wish I could experience the whole trip all over again.

Best whale watching trip EVER - the whales, dolphins - all of it. Val and Country were our guides and were great!

Wow! Val Andy Country delivered with what they called a “mugging”, 4 whales and a large pod of spinner dolphins! It was an unforgettable and invaluable experience!

What a great afternoon spent with Captain Jack and crew member Val! Beautiful day, gorgeous surroundings and a super demonstration of com podding put on by some active humpbacks. Jack and Val were very eager to share their knowledge and experiences in a friendly relatable manner and succeeded in giving us plenty of views of these amazing creatures! If there weren't so many other experiences to have here in Maui, we'd have been happy to do it again today.
