Hawaii Surf Campers, Wahiawa HI

Russ who checked us in was great and even recommended a great taco place to us. We had a good time cruising round in Mallory however the experience has been soured. On return I was told it would be a couple of dollars for fuel (was just below the full line) and have been charged $37. We dropped the van back early and would have refuelled ourselves if we hadn’t been told it would only be a couple of dollars. It’s also annoying that you get the vehicle at 2pm and have to return it at 11am. Also note that sleeping in a van is illegal in Oahu and the park rangers do come round. I’d recommend staying at hipcamps to avoid confrontations.

Had a 10/10 experience with Hawaii Surf campers! We rented Big T which was very spacious and had AC! Our friends rented Honeycombe which was also great! They also provided a map of campsites which was very helpful. Ross was the best at showing us everything there was to know about our van and was super kind! Highly recommend this experience!

Ross and Ian were absolutely amazing! Gave great suggestions and were really thorough with the inspection of the vehicle before and after. Very chill and friendly vibes! You will not be disappointed with choosing them for a nice island vibes road-trip.

When my 73 Karmann Ghia needed some attention, the crew at Hawaii Surf Campers were fantastic. They did great work and kept me up to date on the process of my repairs. They are knowledgeable and have a great shop. My VW now runs like a new car. If you have a Volkswagen that needs some expert work, go see them.

It was a lot of fun with Tango (with the exception of a mishap that could have been avoided). We would definitely rent there again. But the technical team should maintain the vehicles better, there is a lot more in them!

My wife and I usually travel to resorts, but we knew in order to enjoy the real Hawaii we needed to leave the city of Honolulu. After lots of research we chose Hawaii Surf Campers. We own vintage cars so we had to go with Juniata Banana. She treated us well BUT we knew she was old school. If you was an easy to drive / smooth ride choose one of their newer models. BUT then again if you want waves and smiles and thumbs up along the way, she is your gal. We did both pick up and deliveries which were on time and cost effective in our opinion. Everything as promised was in the camper. The onboard power and propane stove worked very well for cooking and keeping our food cold. Request folding chairs, they are nice. We used a mix of government and private campsites during our 5 nights. Here are some pictures, we even met up with some of Juniata’s Bros. Andrew and Jay Johnson Nova Scotia Canada.

Oldies but goodies! So much fun to stay on Oahu with a VW van. We met so many people on the island because they started talking to us due to this beautiful car. We had some minor issues with the radio and the guys from Hawaii Surf Campers helped us right away to fix it. Great experience to get to know Oahu!

Rented cocoon just over a year ago on our trip to Hawaii, has a great experience exactly what we were looking for. Excellent staff super helpful and wouldn’t even accept a tip at the end. I would highly recommend renting a van from here you’re not just getting the van you’re getting an experience.

Simply flawless! Ross was excellent in his service and I had a magical time with Lucy (the van) on Oahu. All vans are vintage and very carefully maintained.

I brought my 2016 ford transit in as my sink pump and roof vent fan were not working. Lucas jumped right on it while I waited for it. I was not able to leave it so he got it done right away. Those guys know what they're doing. I highly recommend. Good professional service.
