Honolulu Watershed Forest Reserve reviews
9A must see place to explore and visit with family. Your life woukd change for the better as you would a better sense of appreciation for nature.
Great hike/walk. It can be a really steep climb at some part so bring plenty of water. Lots of fun and great views like the rest of Oahu.
This off the beaten path hike was a little extreme. It was short, but not well travelled or marked. Oh, and muddy. It felt like bivoacing and it was really cool.
Beautiful hike especially through the bamboo forest. Water crossing at least 3X one way. Ran into a couple of Moms with 3 children under 4 yrs old and they made it. Beautiful Lulumanu falls.
Manoa Falls: Just a great hike to the waterfall. Make sure you are wearing good hiking shoes as it is uphill all the way in and the opposite on the way out. We did it in the rain and were pretty soaked when we got back! After all it is in a Rain Forest. Remember its a bit slippery in areas when wet. The trail is fairly well kept but parts of it get washed out so those areas can be a little rough. The falls itself is spectacular in the wet season. There are some quaint areas that make good photo ops along the way. Total time with viewing and rest stops about 1.5 hours.
Parking just outside the gate and the trail is directly to your right. Little difficult to follow the trail at some points but for the most part, trailblazers before me have marked the trail with tape and ribbons. It's a beautiful, shady hike that goes through a forest of trees and bamboo. Once you hit the stream, follow it all the way up the waterfall. Depending on the last rain will determine how much water the fall let's down. But regardless, it's a wondrous site! Very lovely and highly recommend if you have some time and you're around Pali Highway.
Nice little hike. Enjoyed the history and beauty of natural surroundings. Can't wait to go on more hikes.
The forest is remarkable. It's a fun hike, but west shoes you can get wet. The path crossed the stream and it's slippery on some of the rocks you hike over. Overall super fun and good exercise.
