The location and clean rooms for this price point is why this property gets 5 stars from me. Don’t expect much.

Pros.

Location. Property is convenient to the beach. The sea walls are here so if you want calmer waters there is that option. Also close to Diamond Head and you can walk north to get away from Waikiki and eat at the better restaurants.

Friendly staff and clean property. Didn’t have any issues.

Filtered water station available in the lobby.

Cons.

Elevators. There are not enough elevators and it can really be a pain to ride them especially at peak times. If you’re frequently going in and out I suggest you get the lowest floor possible and take the stairs.

Breakfast is not worth the hassle. We had breakfast once and decided that a spam musubi from the ABC store is a much better option. Breakfast is very plain mainland motel style offerings (think eggs and potatoes). Surprisingly a weak point for a Hyatt property in Hawaii.

Fitness center. There’s just a few cardio machines and a rack of dumbbells. It’s very basic. I usually expect the property to have at least one multi use machine for all types of resistance and weight exercises if they want to be lazy when it comes to the fitness center.

Pool. The pool is not where you want to be here. It’s small and not worth the visit.

Ibet at the front desk is very helpful and patient. She does a lot to provide great experience for my family staying here.

Very dirty rooms, smaller than advertised, intrusive staff, mediocre buffet, I would never recommend to anyone.

Great location took me 2 minutes to wal
to the beach they provide 2 chairs per room but they are low to the grown so be aware lots of places to eat in the area. There is buses that take you all over the island get a bus card from the ABC get the all day pass for 5.50 save lots of money and you can see the island you get 5 bucks a day to spend at the bar everyone was really nice.

Pro: the hotel service is great, the hotel staff was very accommodating and there is very easy access to the beach, restaurants and stores.
Cons: the hotel needs a few upgrades, the homeless population is big on Waikiki Beach, the cost to park on the property to much.
Park across the street at the parking garage is way cheaper.

No major complaints. Got a good deal, housekeepers were really excellent rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is good overall, street noise permeates into the room easily however as does the dinging Everytime one of the 3 elevators comes to the floor.

Clean rooms - short walk to the beach- close to shopping and food.
Valet staff was great- quick-friendly and always opened the door for me.

Excellent, excellent service. Staff very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed it. The hotel itself is super clean and at a very nice location. Very accessible to buses, and beach is just a short walk away. We are really happy of our stay there. Staff Ibet and Lizet made our stay very pleasing. Thanks.

I have communicated this with the hotel and hope to hear back:
My vacation was awesome at Waikiki, excluding my experience staying at the Hyatt Place which was least expected, considering the incredible brand name. I have stayed at multiple Hyatt resorts till now and this was, by far, the only below-average experience. Only one elevator was available during my entire stay spanning 6 days from the 7th floor. The misleading emergency announcements midnight made it extremely unpleasant, having a 2 year old baby. I hope my next stay is better.

I was here for my cooperate meeting. Glad that I chose this hotel to stay. Convenient location, less than 5 minutes walking to the beach. The facility is clean and has an excellent COVID 19 precaution practice. Room is spacious. Staff is well-dressed, friendly, especially the front desk made us feel welcomed and they valued our stay. Computer center is up-to-dated and convenient for guests to use. Breakfast bar needs to have more variety of food. However, it has outstanding coffee and tea/drink bar. Over all, this hotel is more than what expectation from a 3-star hotel. We definitely will return to this place.

We had a GREAT visit at the Hyatt Place! I had read some sketchy reviews and was getting nervous before we arrived. All of the complaints were unfounded. Elevator service was more than fine; parking WAS across the street, but very close and very accommodating. Pool had limited capacity due to Covid, but who wants to be at the pool when you have Waikiki beach across the street? Breakfast was eggs, potatoes and sausage, more than fine and more than enough.

Overall we had an outstanding visit. Best of all were the staff. They were ALL so friendly and outgoing, from maintenance, front desk, valets and housekeeping.

Our trip was perfect. Especially the view!

Probably the smallest hotel room I've ever had. But it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. A view of the small hotel across the street, which was extremely entertaining after a few drinks. The staff was super friendly and kept me updated prior to my arrival with texts. They seem to be fairly animal-friendly as well. Hyatt place Waikiki is in a convenient location and would be my choice when I have to make another trip back to that part of Waikiki. Oh I forgot to mention they gave me a tip on saving on the parking by parking at a condominium across the street.

I wasn't a fan of my stay here. The room was small and very dated (no fan in the bathroom?). The balcony wasn't good for much besides standing on and the view wasn't worth it anyway. Explorist status didn't carry any real benefits or an upgrade. They even make you show a card you're given at check-in to redeem your two bottles of water. Parking was off-site and $27/day. Overall not what I expect from a Hyatt Place. I redeemed points for my stay so I guess I can't complain too much, but I wish I had sprung a bit more for the Regency or Centric.

Spacious room, great location, food trucks just next to the hotel, friendly staffs. Breakfast quality is just ok, pool is forgettable, but those two are not we really focus on getting anyway

To be honest, spend a little more and stay at the Hyatt regency down the road. Hyatt place is a dump. Our room was dirty, there is almost no sound deadening so you hear all the hustle and bustle of the alley/street next to the hotel.

Only thing it has going for it is a good location otherwise this hotel isnt worth it's price and is more similar to a motel 6 than a Hyatt property anywhere else.

Edit: forgot to mention that the staff are helpful and courteous as well.
