Ilima at Leihano, Kapolei HI

My Sister and I moved Mom into Ilima at Leihano in May of 2022 when it became apparent that she could no longer take care of herself while living on her own. She has made many friends and the friendly staff has been so attentive to her every need and makes sure that she takes her daily medication properly. She loves participating in the activities like bingo and making crafts and they keep her well fed with scrumptious entrees. The facility is kept spotless and the staff interacts with all residents on a one-on-one basis making her feel like part of the family. It is nice to have peace of mind that she is safe, healthy and happy at Ilima and I highly recommend this facility to any family!

We just enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and it was festive and totally enjoyable! Mahalo to all the hard working staff and chefs at the Ilima!

Very friendly and clean. They recognize me and are patient & very helpful. They seem to know the resident’s habit to locate them, if they aren’t in her room.

Ilima is a beautiful place to live. As our moms health has declined and her disease has progressed, the caregiving staff has continued to treat her with kindness, dignity, and respect. Management has always been caring, communicative, and professional.

I like the activities. I find the people very helpful and friendly, I find my room very nice.

My parents have been Ilima @ Leihano residents for about six months. They love the Kapolei area, their new surroundings, the many activities, the excellent Dining Room food, and the wonderful staff members who care for them. I’ve been able to meet other residents who’ve befriended my parents while visiting Ilima…. Such great people. There is also a pool and walking path (very safe) which goes around the facility. Mark, Valerie and Maribelle & her nurses have done an excellent job making my parents welcome. Mahalo esp.to the staff members for all your hard work and care.

We recently visited this facility and were amazed bu their people and the place itself. The team were amazingly welcoming to all their guest and very personable. The facility is flawless and clean. The sales person is really knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I strongly recommend this facility for those who need a home for their loved ones.

We are so impressed with the level of service my parents receive at Ilima at Leihano. The love and care they provide is laced with compassion and grace and it is comforting to know that our mom and dad are well taken care of. The staff is skilled and caring, sensitive to the needs of family members and residents. The wonderful staff at IL made a difficult transition easier for my parents. We are indeed, blessed to have found such an outstanding home for our parents!

Mom has been living at Ilima at Leihano in Kapolei for a little over a year and she just LOVES it! She feels very safe and comfortable there. The rooms are very spacious and the common areas are always clean and welcoming. Mom always boasts about how clean and neat the housekeeping staff keeps her room. She’s amazed by all the friendly staff greeting her and knowing her name and the dining room staff knowing her favorite drinks and snacks. The dining experience is like that of a 5-star restaurant from the daily menu presented to the resident in a leather folder, dining staff personally taking your order and bringing your healthy, delicious, nicely presented meals. The nursing staff is always quick to respond to her “buzzing” no matter what time of day and maintains very accurate accountability of her medicines. Ilima has a very wide variety of activities for the residents. There’s something for the residents to do every hour outside of meal time. Such activities include bus excursions from Sandy Beach to Haleiwa to Makaha, arts and crafts, card and board games, movies and live musical entertainment. Mom’s very proud of all the arts and crafts she’s made and displays them outside her door and in her room.

The associates here are always so helpful and courteous. They never look disturbed when we ask them to do something and that makes me feel like we’re all a family because they care so much about us. Having the workers have all those amazing characteristics is fantastic.

I think that the friendliness of the staff is amazing. I have so much fun with them and they are so helpful. I feel safe here and the entire place is well kept and clean.

We went to Ilima always feels clean and all the staff are very nice and kind, they have a lot activities for keep all the people living there, it's happy and comfortable to live there. All the staff work very hard to make sure the people are healthy and happy.

I recently visited this facility with my grandmother who is doing early research. This place is beautiful and they really upkeep it very well. We got to try the food which is very tasty and it’s literally like ordering at a restaurant… You get a menu. The sales person answered all of my questions and what was nice is they had a sign at the front when my grandmother arrived. This is definitely the place with my grandma wants to be. PS we visited other facilities on the island and the residents seem most happy here.

Open communication and flexible hours are the best tools to keep this wonderful company. Our residents are like our own family! Aloha to my second home!

Top quality place! The staff is accommodating and truly cares for their residents. As a guest, the staff always makes me feel welcome and invited into their “home”. Each time I visit I feel the true spirit of aloha.

When I decided to give up my current living situation and research for a place that my husband and we no longer would have to clean, shop for food coo, etc We wanted to enjoy life without those responsibilities.

I did this and am so fortunate to have found Ilima at Leihano. It is a retirement facility that meets all our needs.

I no longer have to cook and shop, this is what I looked forward to and having choices of meals meets our needs. I should mention that they have good cooks. Also, with each meal or snack, you have choices of fruits, drinks and deserts. The wait help here is outstanding, they get to know each resident and interact with them at meal time.

Their dining room is set up so that you can have your meals and socialize with other residents, which we now have made new friends. Laughter is very common when socializing.

They have nurses and resident aids, which can be very helpful when you have a medical problem and need assistance, such as taking medication (s), or if you are in a wheelchair or need hygiene need assistance.

Their manager of the “Wellness” department and staff take the time and effort to plan events, crafts and games so it is enjoyable to participate in them.

Throughout your day you are always greeted by the staff and I can’t mention how many times they will ask if I need help.

The administrative staff and front desk are knowledgeable and there for you at all times to answer any questions and give you guidance, if needed.

The Maintenance and Housekeeping staff are always at your beck and call for any assistance you require. They never make you feel that you are imposing on them.

Living at Ilima was the best decision we made as they are the true essence of Aloha and making sure their Kupuna (elders) are content and taken care of.

I loved working with the Ilima residents and staff! I had the honor of introducing a book club/storytelling activity for the residents this summer and the staff were especially helpful in coordinating it! Ethel in particular is a joy to work with and she was welcoming to new ideas and really cares about the facility. Through a large diversity of activities, the residents really can find their passion. Many residents I talk to especially rave about Bingo and the food. If you want to find a facility that will keep you occupied and really cares about your needs and interests, ‘Ilima is a great option!
