The tour was self guided with a device to explain what you are looking at. Well worth going to. A lot of history and antiques. Not a long tour. They do have an elevator to get you upstairs for the last of the tour. You can stay as long as you want

I loved it. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in history and learning more about Hawaii and the culture.

‘Iolani palace is a sacred cultural landmark. There are numerous treasures here and documented history that is informative and important for both Kama‘aina and tourist. The docents are very informative. If you can get and have the money for a guided tour, then it is worth it. The audio tours are very good too. Safety precautions are in place with social distancing, mask wearing, and constant sanitization. Limited tours of about 10 every 15 mins. We felt generally comfortable and safe with these protocols in place. Street parking is available, one can also try the palace grounds for metered parking. I see people uber/lyft in and out of there without issue. There is an elevator within the palace for those with certain disabilities. There are prices for both Kama‘aina and visitors that are reasonable. Check iolanipalace.org to make reservations. Oh! Don't miss the basement. There are jewels, swords, and emblems with so much information down there.

The guides are super knowledgeable and do a great job giving you a tour around the palace. So glad I went, a wonderful way to learn more about Hawaii’s history! The grounds are also peaceful just to stroll around after.

We, people HAWAII, Hawaiian & non-Hawaiian, celebrated our last Queens 100 death anniversary at Iolani Palace. Iolani Palace is the only Palace in Untied States. Full of culture & history. A must see if you are ever in Honolulu, Hawaii. We Hawaiian are very proud & honored to be an Hawaiian as all other races. A must see. Just being on the Place grounds you feel/sense the presences of the love the Queen had for her poeple. Remember the Palace has electricity before the White House.

Historical place for the state of Hawaii, the only state in the, United States that has a place on U. S soil, what a country.

A snapshot history lesson of the last 2 centuries of Hawaiian monarchy.

Parking spaces are few and are metered. Get change at the ticket counter.

A really cool building, and the audio tour is very nice. Plus, they limit the number of people in there at any given time, so it's never crowded.

Audio tour was thorough, and staff stagger the tours in order to ensure that the crowds are manageable and don't interfere with the experience.

Purchase or pickup your tickets first at the ticket office in the Iolani barracks, and you will be given a tour time.

The audio tour is very well done-both my husband and I found it engaging and interesting. The history is a sad one, but important. It's well worth taking the time to learn more about Hawaii. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Around Christmas time they do an evening tour that is very interactive and completely different then what we grew up seeing if field trips. Plan ahead of time and book an evening tour.

Combined with tour of the mission house s and church, too much for one day. So much to see, so much to learn.

Been to Hawaii 3 times and not done this tour before. Fantastic audio tour however staff at ticketing could do with some extra training as they gave very little information on how the tour worked. We had to work out the process ourselves.

Beautiful and inspiring. A look at the dignity and Grace of Hawaiian royalty, along with the sadness of how it was compromised.

We visited for the Prince Lot Hula Festival. The grounds are beautiful, with mature native trees to shade the area. The Hula Festival itself was amazing, with dancers displaying the spiritual side of the hula. Not the typical tourist experience of hula, I was thrilled to be able to experience this beautiful art form.

Details in the decor are amazing. If you objectively look at the palace, it's an amazing piece of history and architecture on its own. Bit of an surprise if you didn't know this existed before coming. I for one, didn't expect to see European style palace in Hawaii.

Wonderful home to the royal family. See where the queen was illegally imprisoned and where she composed aloha oe. I hope someday humanity corrects this brutal mistake.
