It was great! Delicious breakfast.
We had a salmon bagel and turkey wrap, both were super good. Bagel is perfectly toasted, micro greens are fresh, capers are on point!
Atmosphere and service are really nice too.
At 10am it was not crowded at all, maybe kind of late for breakfast, maybe just got lucky, but better then standing in line for half an hour like in some other places.

First I want to say the people here are great. And the location is prime. But the coffee, man, it just wasn’t for me. I like a good bold roast. Deep and dark and full-bodied. I ordered a redeye (coffee + 2 shots) and it just tasted like a bright Light Roast. I get it, a lot of people dig that. Especially these days. If you do then you’ll love this place. I don’t. I guess that’s on me. But the people are great.

This place is amazing!
My brother moved to Maui a little over a year ago and took us here. The coffee was excellent and so was everything else we had. Juice was really full of flavor and well balanced, the bagel and lox one one of the best ever, bacon egg and cheese wrap was small but had a lot of bacon, dulce de leche pastry was.
I will definitely be back soon, giving me food dreams already and it was only 30min ago. Staff was lovely. Really surprised about some of the bad reviews, we had a fantastic experience. If you want to be in a hurry, or think you can compare mass produced garbage from Starbucks to locally made goods then why would you bother to try something else. If you like Starbucks, I am highly skeptical of your review anyway. I wouldn’t go to Starbucks if everything was free, but Java Café is worth every penny and I would much rather support a local business serving local products than a chain. Highly recommend this place to those who appreciate good food and drinks. If you like Starbucks, don’t waste your time on trying something new and you can have the consistency you love and save the time it takes to leave a bad review.

Plain and simple - the food is really good. Some of the food is priced a little high but we co tinue to back because it is quite good.

Getting the day started the right way with yummy breakfast. Plenty of Java and breakfast options that are all freshly made. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the indoor setting. My kind of breakfast place or hangout place. Definitely recommend.

Really fun breakfast place, clean and fresh interiors with good food options. They had some refreshing juice options with healthy ingredients like beetroot, celery, ginger, OJ etc. But a girl needs her coffee in the morning! We had:
1. Smashed Avocado Toast - 5/5
2. Vegan Hummus Toast - 5/5
3. Kailua Coffee - 6/10

Food was fresh and light. Coffee was heavenly (may be a different spelling but sounded like Kailua).

Overall really enjoyed the breakfast, although on the pricier side, food was really good. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for vegetarian options in the area.

Some of the best espresso around! I order mine in an iced chai (they use Oregon brand chai) goes great with their salmon bagel! Today’s bagel had one of the freshest tomatoes I have ever seen! Always delicious! You can also but whole coffee beans here or have them ground.

September 2017 - the shop has been renovated and looks amazing. New fresh juice and baking. Brand new espresso machine with friendly staff. Try the banana mocha cooler! The new look is a great improvement!

June 2022 - some changes to the menu, prices and staff. Coffee changed to Maui only (ok), food (excellent), pastries (missed homemade from the past, still good though), service (not as good as it used to be) that would be the sad part where some, not all of the staff have the “Covid” vibe and are missing the Aloha vibe they once had. I hope it comes back!

I had some juice for breakfast. It was about $10.94 withput a tip. It was tasty and even though I feel like I would have enjoyed many of the juice blends I had the "Bliss" one made with pineapple, pearl, ginger and mint. The seating outside is nice and covered.

Solid variety of quality made breakfast sandwiches and bakery items! I recommend this spot for a quick breakfast. The tables outside are mostly shaded. Atmosphere is pleasant.

As for the coffee, I found it to be alright. I prefer specialty coffee. This coffee is far from that. If you’re not very discerning about your coffee—or if you like it with cream and sugar—I think you’ll enjoy it just fine here.

We made a quick stop on the way to the airport but I would have loved to stay longer if we had the time. The shop has an adorable boho decor and nice sized outdoor seating area. I had a cold brew (they call it a "toddy coffee") and it was very good. I didn't order any food but they had a great selection of pastries (they all looked delicious) and a good sized breakfast menu. My only "complaint" (if you can even call it that) is that they only offered paper straws. I much prefer the compostable (plastic-like) straws or the lids that do not require a straw. Next time I'm in Maui, I will be frequenting the Java Café often, highly recommend.

This is a great place to have a creative meeting or just get some things done on the laptop. The atmosphere makes you feel so at home and the coffee is just spectacular. The staff is friendly and they do their absolute best to get your order out as fast as they can.

The food was delicious and beautifully made. They added cute little orange flowers to my meal for decoration. Was definitely a good place to come. I got the breakfast sandwich and a frappe and my kiddos got a waffle with a lot of fruit they enjoyed!

Went for breakfast and had a few great things (lox bagel and iced coffee) and a few mediocre things (avo toast and over steeped hot tea). The outdoor patio was nice and the vibe was relaxed. Great for a quick, convenient, breakfast but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Coffee was a little mild so be sure to add an extra shot of espresso as needed

Unimpressed by the cold and unfriendly staff. The business has potential, location is great, food was ok, new staff will greatly improve customer experience
