Joann's Lounge Bar, Hilo HI

Great place for Karaoke and free pupu's when you come early enough. Security, Staff, and Owner are some of the friendliest on island.

This is a Local's bar. They are friendly with a lot of aloha. If you are a Visitor remember this not a "tiki bar" or other tourist place. Respect the Locals and they will respect you. Good drinks and good food, especially the steak and fries. They take credit cards but cash is King here. Support local businesses it really does matter. While there respect the Locals, their culture, and the place they call home. Come here with respect (pono). If you want a tourist type spot go to Cafe Pesto. Joann's is a special place that we Locals like a lot.

A cute bar hosted by delightful staff. The free pupu platter was one of the best meals we've had on the island anyone fortunate enough to stop here should be grateful.

Went with two local Hawaiian sisters and their auntie, who treated me to a round of drinks for my B-day. The bartender prepared me a special shot.

We may have been the only table of haoles in the whole place. We had a good time listening to the amazing karaoke singers and enjoying the drinks and pupus. We even sang one song! The crowd was super about joining in for the chorus or call-and-response. The wait staff was amazing. After a fight broke out, the server turned to us and said "Welcome to Hilo! ". Indeed! Security managed the situation and while it was a spectical, I didn't feel personally in danger. Joann is an Angel and a great cook!

Awesome bar, owner, and staff. Free pupus. Kinda loud because of the karaoke so if you can't handle that, this bar is not for you.

The nicest, most courteous staff! Thw best service, the tastiest complimentary pupus, AND the most talented kareoke singers in East Hawai'i!

Joanne and her staff are friendly and service is fast. Recommend this bar to anyone who is visiting Hilo. Locals are friendly to visitors and the atmosphere is amazing; especially when the Karaoke has started.

Call ahead and reserve karaoke room, it's free and then u and your buddies can sing all night without waiting as main area gets packed and it takes an hour or more to get a song in. Good food, good staff, good song selection.

Customer service is excellent. Our waitress is attentive.
Free pupus. However they open at 2pm and this is definitely a local dive bar.

Pupu 's for free and atmosphere is amazing covid approved.karaoke make me sound like a professional singer, mic are covered with paper caps and changed after each singer.

First time here last week ever and I gotta say I loved it.love the complimentary pupus and the karaoke

I give five stars, cause I love local hole in the walls. Great drinks, pupus, prices and service.

Not the best vibe. Pupus was junk. And took forever to try and sing the karaoke. Probably wont go back again.
