The pizza was delicious! Nicely cooked in the big oven and a thinner crust. The sauce was one of a kind - very tasty!

The Ultimate Heist! This was some of the best pizza we have had! We also ordered the creamy tomato soup! Delicious! Waitress was very attentive and friendly. A must stop after the aquarium:)

Our first time here and we absolutely love it! We tried the prosciutto & melon for starters then tried their popular The Shaka pizza with prosciutto with a sprinkle of their spicy pizza oil. Will definitely go back. JR, local boy from Lahaina and one of the owners, was a great host and served our pizza. I highly recommend eating here. And, 20% kamaaina discount. Woohoo! Thanks JR!

Not just great pizza for Maui, but great pizza for literally anywhere. Very flavorful dough and sauce with fantastic homemade (?) mozzarella. High quality and made with care. Owner stopped by to apologize for being a bit slow getting the pizza to the table - we didn't fine it slow. Nice guy who cares about his product. Service was great all around. We went twice during our trip.

Johnny’s heist pizza was a TREMENDOUS experience. I was rather seasick as I walked thru the charmingly decorated doors, yet I was instantaneously cured of my nausea upon sniffing the mouth watering scent that is Johnny’s heist pizza & bbq. I quickly took a seat at a round and stylish table and ordered a meat lovers pizza, which came topped with an assortment of tender provisions that would make even a devout vegans mouth water. It came quick too, I’d say quicker than a bounding gazelle fleeing a hungry lion, I was also served a delightful carton of ‘yoohoo chocolate drink’ which was absolutely divine. I also came out of this experience with a boost in my self esteem, with the tray the pizza was served on giving me many compliments and reassurances such as “I love you” and “sexy”. It also made me feel fancy, with forks of gold. Overall this experience is a definite 5/5 experience and would recommend to anybody in the area.

We LOVED it here for lunch! They brought out a complementary tray of appetizers with slices of meats, cheeses, and melon that was delicious and the pizza was phenomenal. One of our favorite places on Maui.

We wanted to like this so much more. Perhaps Neapolitan just isn’t our personal favorite style of pizza or maybe we had unreasonably high hopes based on previous reviews. You can tell that the ingredients are all very fresh and high quality. There was just too much sauce and almost too many flavors going on in the sauces. We had a cheese/pepperoni pizza and a The Ultimate Heist. The pork on the ultimate pizza was excellent though, and I was wishing I’d listened to my husband and ordered the pulled pork platter instead of the pizza. If you like Neapolitan style pizza though, you’ll probably love this place.

First they gave us almost destroyed dirty paper menu and then we saw that other people have normal plastic ones
Our waitress (she didn’t even say her name) clearly ignored us for a long time and my son started to cry (you know hungry kids, right?)
Than when we finally was able to put an order we specifically asked for NO sauce with chicken sandwich (btw it’s not a sandwich, it’s a separate ingredients on a wooden board) and of course she brought it with ketchup all over the chicken meat. Our son doesn’t eat any kind of sauces and was really disappointed and was able to eat only bread. My husband ordered pizza and it was burned. Food was 2 stars, but if I could give the waitress 0 stars I totally would! She gave us really weird and bad vibe.

Our waitress was the sweetest we absolutely loved her! She was so caring, helpful and kind, especially with our kids. Best customer service of any restaurant we had in Maui. The food was so delicious! Presentation & plating was beautiful. Such good food with aunthentic taste & a laidback vibe. So grateful we stopped here. Right next to the Maui Ocean center!

My husband and I have been to Johnny's 4 or 5 times since they opened on Thanksgiving. Every experience was better than the last. The pizza there is definitely the best on Maui. Johnny, the owner and pizza man, has such a warm personality, which you will see if he's not too busy. The staff are also all very nice. I highly recommend this place, located in the Maalaea Harbor Shops.

Absolutely my favorite place in all of Maui! From the food to staff this place has a great vibe. The attention to detail with preparation and presentation sets Johnny’s apart from the rest. The dessert is to die for.

I heard about this place on Q103 and had to stop by since the founder said he was trained in Italy! This spot is tucked away in Ma'alaea Harbor next to Da Playground and Tante's. There are plenty of tables both inside and out, and the ambiance is really nice.

The food was excellent. We had the fresh, handmade pasta with pesto and mozzarella and the Massimo & Mario pizza. The truffle oil was so fragrant and the crust was cooked to perfection! The restaurant even offers a small, complementary appetizer with some bread, buffalo mozzarella and salami. We really enjoyed everything we had and it was awesome to be able to BYOB.

. Which brings me to why I'm giving this three stars despite having a five star meal. The service from the beginning was a little odd.our waitress seemed "off, " a bit manic, possibly on a substance.and was less than accommodating (when I asked if she had a shim to stabilize the table, she flatly responded, "no"). Ultimately, this didn't bother us too much, it was just an odd/quirky experience.

The thing that really annoyed me was that my friend and I only drank half of the $30 bottle of wine we brought. I accidentally left it on the table when we left, and I walked straight back from the parking lot when I realized - we had been gone for maybe 5-10 minutes. The server flat-out refused to give me back the bottle. He claimed it had already been thrown away and there was no recovering it. I asked him several times, mentioned the price of the bottle and the fact that it was only half consumed, but he held hard and refused to return it. I'm sure they enjoyed sipping on that in the back of the house after closing. (or while closing!).

Bummed to have that experience cap off my night here since I was super excited to come and really loved the food. I would consider coming back, but definitely won't be leaving anything at the table again since these servers snap up extra booze before you can blink an eye!

Incredible, mouthwatering, authentic Italian pizza! We ordered the one with truffle and it was the perfect balance of flavor. The owner and staff were so kind and intentional with every detail. Highly recommend!

A server here, Sabrina, recommended this spot to me. We went on a Tuesday morning, like 11: 30. Sat right away and the server was nice. The pizza here is fantastic. We ordered 2 with the intention of leftovers. Johnnys Special is on my favorites list for good now, drizzled with the spicy olive oil it’s absolutely awesome.thanks for the recommendation Sabrina. We love it! And thanks to the spot for fresh ingredients, flavorful crust, excellent cheese and overall high quality food prepared with care. We will be back soon!

My husband and I enjoyed the food and service here. Perfect seating outside even when it was so windy we were seated in a corner to avoid strong winds. Our server was so sweet and provided complimentary apps and beer from the chef since there was no booze available. Either way, pop was delicious with the incredibly decedent pizza. The chef was so sweet to thank us, but thank you for the amazing meal! Bravo chef. Highly recommend this spot after the aquarium!

Hands down the best pizza I have had since having pizza in Italy! Authentic and absolutely delicious! We had the Johnny's special and it did not disappoint! Cooked in a beautiful traditional pizza oven that is a unesco heritage from Naples. You could taste the love for the craft. Highly recommend!
