Ka Lae Garden Thai Food, Ocean View HI

Got the Chicken Cashew Stir Fry. Probably the best meal I have had on the island so far. Might be back for more.

I got the Papaya Salad for my niece to try and she loved it. Spicy and delicious. Also got yellow curry and the drunken noodles. Both very good too. It was worth the long wait. Best take out place around.

A great stop on the way from Kona to the black sand Punaluʻu Beach. The view at the outside eating area was great. The food was very fresh. This felt like a very small family owned restaurant, in a good way.

We ordered green curry with tofu and Thai stir fry noodles with chicken. Both were delicious. Glad we found this hole-in-the-wall place on our travels. Would definitely recommend.

Ka Lae Garden Thai is a little gem of a restaurant in the small community of Ocean View. Their Thai food is excellent. I am addicted. I have it at least once a week! Call way ahead for pick up they are usually quite busy!

Been eating here for a few years and the food is always excellent. When I’m in the area or passing by- I make sure to stop in. Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Super tasty, fresh ingredients and simply delicious. Like other have mentioned, recommend calling ahead to order because the walk in wait is typically a minimum wait time of 30 minutes to receive your food. Pineapple rice, Pad Thai and green curry are my favs!

Freshest thai food I've ever eaten! Had pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and summer rolls (got food here twice). Well worth the wait (expect to wait 30-60 minutes. Call ahead and enjoy.

We arrived when it first opened. The food was delicious. Only remark I can mention is it took 45 minutes almost an hour to receive our food.

Both my husband and I became extremely sick after eating here the other night, violently so. I was only able to eat a mouthful, it smelled funny to me and I immediately threw it back up. Husband ate all his and still feels sick two days later.

I really enjoyed the freshness of the food. The summer rolls with the peanut sauce were tasty and so fresh. We tried the drunken noodles and chicken fried rice. Overall great food.

Two thumbs up for the quality and taste of each plate we ordered from here. If you're looking for authentic Thai food that is made FRESH to order look no further than Ka-Lae Garden. They grow their own produce for their dishes and you can taste the freshness in their dishes. Please note that waiting time can go from 30 min-1 hr but that is because each plate is made as you order by the talented cooks La and her daughter Muti so you know it will be so worth the wait. Michael was also very welcoming and helped us order for our first time there. My mom is so hard to please and usually will just pick at her food but she finished the WHOLE plate of her drunken noodles and even made my dad call to give compliments to the chefs. The best food we had in the big island of Hawaii. A MUST TRY!

Great meal with a spectacular view. You cannot go wrong here, the food is fresh and tasty. The papayas for the papaya salad come from the garden right behind the restaurant.

I’d recommend ordering ahead or giving yourself some time for the meal, the food is prepared fresh.

The restaurant is vegetarian and vegan friendly.
