Great kayaking experience. The coral reef are easy to reach and you can find lots of fishes and other sea life here. Great place to do snorkeling!

The weather was not good for a trip to the sandbar today. These good people gave me the option to cancel with a full refund or a safer closer option for kayaking and snorkeling. The instructions they gave helped me to enjoy snorkeling and kayaking and stay safe on a very windy day. All their equipment was perfect for the day too. I would recommend them for any rentals.

Must go here. Amazing experiences. I do recommend to make a reservation ahead of time, preferably in the morning so that walking on the sandbar is possible. If you are not able to make a reservation, there is a wait list. First come, first serve basis. We were lucky to be called for a tandem kayak in the afternoon. Andy at the office was super helpful and very kind. He made sure to call us and made us very comfortable throughout the process. We made it out to the sandbar at the water was about 5 feet deep at the most shallow area we could find.

This place is awesome! Prices are super affordable and the sand bar is so beautiful - perfect for picnicking.

Apparently this place leases space from the state park and works as a non profit that funds the entire park. Folks here are super nice.

Had an issue with my reservation and Andy did me a solid with making it right. One thing to pay attention to that I messed up is if you book online and can't order dry bags and snorkel gear along with the tandem kayak, *don't* try and buy the other pack or else you'll double-book your kayak like I did. Thankfully others got to use the extra ones and we got it sorted out.

My group had a great time. Thank you!

Great kayak experience! We arrived late and only had 3 hours to explore the bay. The staff suggested an easy route. Gorgeous view and the distance to snorkeling is not far. We saw tons of fish. Super fun!

This was such a fun way to experience Oahu with the family and kids. From the front desk getting us set up to the friendly staff helping us get our kayak ready for our water adventure - everyone was wonderful. The 5 year old had a blast at The Sandbar and we even saw a green sea turtle! Side note: there's a great lunch place called Adela’s Country Eatery (go early - they get super busy!) after your morning kayak session and eat at the He'eia State Park for a relaxing view of the ocean. Thanks Kama'aina Kayak for helping us create these memories!

Amazing experience with the help of very knowledgeable staff. Rented a tandem kayak with anchor and brought our own cooler and snorkel gear. Saw at least 5 turtles and hundreds of fish. Must snorkel if you’re going!

I've used them twice now to rent double kayaks. They're quick and easy to deal with, in the water in no time by the time you arrive. Kayaking out to the KaneOhe sandbar is probably my favorite thing to do in Oahu. It's just breathtaking once you're out there. It is a good 30 minutes of paddling. We've probably seen at least 20 different, some very large, sea turtles between the two trips.

We had a great experience with this company! Rental was cheap (we rented a double kayak with an anchor add on) and the process was simple and streamlined. We rented online the night before and everything was ready to go the next day. Friendly staff too! Highly recommend.

A terrific way to explore Kaneohe Bay. Rates were reasonable and it was very convenient to have a launch from Heeia State Park rather than having to go to Kailua. The park itself is lovely, the rental office is there near the visitors area and the people there were helpful. We loved our day on the bay.

The staff were friendly and overall a positive experience. Although the weather report didn't mention it, a dark cloud storm came and reduced the visibility to almost zero. I rerouted myself back toward the shore and waited. Typical island weather; about 15-20 minutes later the rain stopped, sunshine returned and I went back to kayaking. I never made it out to the sandbar due to the storm. The second time I went toward the fish pond and cut out to the ocean and Marine base. I'd recommend this route where I was fortunate enough to see a sea turtle, corals and all types of fish. Need snorkel gear and knowledge of how to get in and out of kayak without damaging reefs to get the total experience. And, remember it's wildlife so there's no guarantee what you'll get to see. Also be aware you have to kayak anywhere from 20-40 minutes to get to places.

Wonderful people doing great work! Unfortunately the day we went out kayaking was overcast and windy so the snorkeling wasn’t amazing, but we still saw some cool fish and sea creatures. The area is beautiful and we definitely got our workout paddling against the wind! Luckily the wind blows on shore so the trip back to the launch is easy peasy. It was fun all around and we plan to try again next year and hope for better weather.

We rented some kayaks and gear today. Really nice folks who show you around and make sure you have a good time.

They have regular Groupon deals and kama'aina rates.

We saw a turtle and a variety of fish too!

Call in advance to ask if the sand bar is above water, and about various sealife seasons (like hammerhead shark, or turtle season).

One of the best experience of my trip. The stuff are super friendly and flexible. We picked sailing rental where two of us got onto a pretty cool and clean sailing boat w/ an experience stuff who kept his mask on all the time and was nicely pointing us where the turtles are. Strongly recommend people to do the same,

Also, sailing maybe a better choice than kayaking if it is windy/overcasting and the sandbar is actually quite far from the shore.

We had a great kayaking + snorkeling self-guided tour last week. We were picked up by Andy from our hotel, delivered to the location, got all instructions and gear, Andy gave us an additional hour because they don't have barbeque that was included into the tour price. We saw many fishes and 2 turtles and we were there ALONE. So it was great swimming there for 5 hours. After the tour we were exhausted but happy, Andy took us back to our hotel.

We had such a blast on the water and our guide and boat captain, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to good snorkeling spots where he knew turtles would be hanging out and showed us how to sail the catamaran. Highly recommend!

Wonderful kayaking experience!
Me & my family did it for the first time. Rented the kayaks for 4 hours and got suuuuper tired after 2 hrs. By the time we got back to the beach another hour passed. Very intense exercise!
We saw ocean turtles swimming!

An absolute must for kayak enthusiasts and anyone looking for a great experience. The staff are very nice and incredibly helpful in guiding you to excellent locations. I took the self guided kayak and snorkel tour and had an awesome time. Some of the locations may take 30 minutes to an hour to get to (depending on your pace and or experience), but you have plenty of time.

The guy who set my kayak up suggested a sandbar about 1.5 miles away from the loading area, where the Air Force had dropped some kind of explosive. It was easy to anchor up and do some snorkeling. I've never snorkeled at a reef so it was an amazing time. Recorded some good footage on the go pro. Do be mindful that the coral reef is very sharp and shallow.

All in all, if you are going to kayak at least once while in Hawaii, this is the location you MUST go.

This was definitely a highlight of my time on O'ahu! Not only are the Kaneohe Bay reefs amazing and full of turtles and fish, but the tour proceeds go to good causes on the island (an after-school kids program and stewardship of He'eia State Park). A win-win! Also, I want to share that even though I was the only person signed up for the day, Kama'aina Kayak and Snorkel went ahead with my reservation and gave me my very own private tour. Any other for-profit company would have likely cancelled on me. My guide Kevin made me feel very safe and was highly knowledgeable about the reef ecosystem and island overall. Overall, I can't recommend this non-profit organization enough!

Kayaks ouch! Definitely fun but intimidating for some.
Did the 4 hour self guided tour
The will provide a life vest per person - for some reason they rent out the anchor separately weird and additional $5 plus you’ll need a water proof bag also available for rent.

Also self guided requires you to bring all snorkeling gear bring it it’s worth it! We visited turtle canyon around 10am only seen one giant turtle they are fast and like to stay away.

Coconut island is within reach aswell as MCBH but you are not allow to make contact with that ground!

Only access to water! As you can see from the images you are knee deep in some areas really cool as you are essentially in the middle of the bay. However some deep channels do exist and you will have to kayak across this deep blue water channels! That’s the scary part for some.

You can also visit Baracuda sand bar - did not visit this spot and it’s more towards the open ocean. The girls shut it down! Lol

If you snorkel don’t be afraid to head to the edge of the sand bars it looks scary but at the edge of the sand bars and the deep blue canyons is we’re all the sea life likes to hang around - tons of sea life

The water is warm like warm! So no need for a wet suit. We got caught in between small rains and it was just perfect!
