Kamehameha Bakery Inc reviews
15Best pastries ever! You have to order the famous poi donuts a day in advance or you will never get one!
Best place for doughnuts in town, beautiful thing is that they open at 3: 00 am so you can get them before you start work, make sure you get the glazed croissant
So this place came up in my search for the best malasadas on Oahu. I first went to Leonard's bakery and was sorely disappointed! Oh so much so! That's when I decided that I was going to come here. Got here around noon on Sunday And based on what I had read I was scared that they would be out of them. Thankfully they weren't. I had learnt my lesson to not buy too many before trying them so I just got 3. As soon as the lady handed them to me I tried one and it was heavenly! I ordered 4 more right then because I didn't want to have to stand in the line again! I brought them back home with me and am still enjoying them (2 days later)!
Forget Leonard's and come here people! These are the best malasadas!
They have amazing local pastries at a modest price. They tend to run out since which is a good sign of how good their stuff is. They close early so plan accordingly. The best time to go is in the morning.
Been eating from here since I was little, since before they relocated here. Yummy pastries! Love this place.
Amazing prices and unique choices that rival the original location. While I still miss the pretzel doughnuts, the poi doughnuts provide a satisfactory distraction.:)
Over rated. Looks nice with the purple color but has no flavor. So it's all food coloring causing the hype.
One of the last old time bakeries left. They have every good pastries. There poi donuts is one there popular items. Service was fast and friendly.
Great local bakery. I had their poi donut a few years ago and fell in love, but my last visit the donut was pretty dry and not nearly as purple.but I also tried the strawberry version and that was delicious and moist! You can see the difference between the two in the photo. So not sure what happened to the poi batch.customer service left a little to be desired. Wish they had signs in front of all the different pastries so I wouldn’t have to annoy them by asking what they were!
The last time I visited Kamehameha (they were in a different location) for the poi donuts, they were amazing. This time, not so much. I came in on a Saturday at around 1 pm. I was afraid they would be sold out but they had plenty left. The strawberry ones were actually sold out. I guess people opted for those instead of poi that day and for a good reason. This batch of poi tasted a bit stale, like it was at least a day or two old. It also didn't have that deep purple hue that it normally does. Maybe they were having an off day? I'm willing to come back again though. Maybe I'll try early morning next time.
SOME OF THE BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER! DONT FORGET TO GET THEIR DELICIOUS LONG JOHNS AND THEIR POI DOUGHNUTS! I WISH THEY WERE LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA!
I just can't tell you how good Kamehameha Bakery is. Located at 1284 Kalani Street D 106, they are always friendly they're happy and always able to answer your questions. The donuts and baked goods are fantastic and are made daily with love and aloha. It's a very popular location for locals as well as Travelers. They offer additional packaging if the products will be leaving out of state and traveling elsewhere. Each time I come and visit Hawaii I always stop at Kamehameha Bakery
OMG.my favorite regular, glazed doughnuts after Krispy Kreme! I wish we had one in VA! I will go back at least 2 times before I leave this island!
Delightful staff and AMAZING baked goods! You will be overwhelmed by the selection and you won’t find anything short of UNBELIEVABLE when you taste it! A “must go” place in Honolulu!
Really neat local bakery. Open early, but also busy early. Reasonable prices and lots of options.
One downside is that they have a huge selection with nothing labeled. So there is lots of pointing and guessing between you and the servers. Somewhat of a language barrier there too.
I would recommend having some idea of what you want, or bring ready to feel a little awkward as you point at pastries.
