Kamitoku Ramen Ward Center reviews
20Good flavor ramen but just one slab of beef. For a $16 ramen, I’d expect a little more meat?
Finally got around to trying this place after hearing countless people hype it up. I ordered a regular beefy wild ramen, the deep fried gyoza, and a ramune sour.
The ramen was definitely flavorful - the broth was very rich and creamy while complementing the texture and mouthfeel of the noodles. While the first few bites really make a big impression, the strong flavor got a bit tiresome and I actually found myself struggling to finish the ramen, despite it tasting so good. I suppose it would have been nicer to have a more complex and slightly more subtle flavor profile rather that one that just beat your tastebuds relentlessly.
The deep fried gyoza had a tasty filling, but I couldn't get behind the crispy, yet insubstantial wrapper. Maybe it's just a preference thing, since I think I like the classic soft, chewy gyoza wrapper more. The ramune sour didn't have too much taste to it; I thought it barely tasted like ramune. I also tried my dining partner's tan tan ramen and fresh lemonade sour. The lemonade sour was very tasty, while the tan tan lacked depth. I felt that it loses out to Goma Tei's tan tan big time.
For the most part, the food was a fair price for the portion size. The drinks were a bit pricy, I wish they had some sort of happy hour. Service was good.
All in all, it's an ok ramen place. Their signature dish really packs a punch in terms of flavor, but it suffers from its success in that the strong flavor becomes monotonous.
One of the best ramen I’ve ever had! The char siu had soo much flavour, it was savoury and tender. Very umami. Usually the char siu in ramen is pretty tasteless and dry but this one was not! The yuzu broth was really refreshing and tasty. The meat musubi which I thought was just a gimmick was surprisingly good too. The meat had so much flavour and melted in your mouth. Also ordered the kids meal for my daughter and they were thoughtful enough to include a pop it (toy). Will definitely come back here next Time I visit Hawaii again.
Excellent customer services. The services were pretty fast. The soup was savory but a bit on the spicy side. Overall great place to get some noodles. Would have rated them 5 stars for my shoyu ramen just a little spicy for my tastes. Otherwise the waiter and waitress were really friendly.
Ramen is amazing. So rich and flavorful. You won't leave hungry! We also tried the tempura garlic which was delish! Definitely will come back the next time we are on the island.
Beefy wild (great) tsukemen (excellent) deep fried gyoza (great) sui gyoza (excellent) beef bowl with Kimchee (great) okonomiyaki fries (great) takoyaki (excellent) squid karage (great) garlic tempura (excellent) lunch combo is great for $17.25 - $19.25 comes with ramen plus a side appetizer. Nice friendly service very prompt. Food is amazing but really heavy on msg.
Had the Beefy King bowl & Spicy Miso Butter Tsukemen!
Great! It gets busy and there is a sign in sheet at the door. We sat at the bar and our food came out hot and fast. We also had the Deep Fried Oysters & Takiyaki.
I really liked this place, although I wish I could add my own toppings like scallions and pickled ginger and chili oil. Would definitely return
Absolutely delicious ramen. Their most popular ramen is so creamy and comforting. The spicy ramen isn’t overwhelmingly spicy and has just the right amount of bite.
I attempted to dine here and was abandoned outside per policy for over 30 minutes. When finally I decided to ask the server said oh, the counter is empty please come in. I had to notify her there were others waiting outside, which prompted her to escort others waiting to the empty counter. She then went on to complain they were understaffed, like it was a burden I as the customer should share. I indicated to the manager I was just going to leave, since this was the THIRD time in a row this place appeared poorly run, and the manager, who just showed up, complained to me that I was complaining. Three times is a trend, not an anomaly. Middle of the road ramen, high price, terrible service.
This is one of my favorite ramen spots! Their beef bone broth is why I love their ramen! It is so creamy and flavorful! Their noodles are also perfectly cooked. Their beef is flavored just right and is tender. I always drink all the soup up, lol! Definitely brings back memories of the food in
Japan.
Delicious ramen. Silky broth. Have tried several and all are excellent. Small restaurant with excellent knowledgeable service professional staff. Free parking in the parking garage attached to the restaurant.
We called the restaurant to make a reservation, clearly stating for 6 people 6 pm on December 26,2022. We arrived there on time, however, they messed up our reservation by putting it on the wrong day - December 27,2022. The worker talking to us insisted we made the reservation for 12/27. He didn’t care about our situation. He said “the restaurant is full and I can’t do anything about it”. He couldn’t even tell us the approximate time we had to wait for a free table. He didn’t even try to help us at all. Very bad service. Very disappointed. None of us wanted to eat there anymore and we left.
Super good. A pleasant crowd during Saturday lunch; enough people to know it's good but few enough to easily grab a table. Ramen is fantastic. If you happen to not be in a Ramen mood, don't sleep on the Cha-siu bowl! Super tender meat with amazing flavor
The food was decent for price.
The male servers were polite and friendly.
The food and eating experience was overshadowed by a younger female server who was a bit more sassier and judgemental than expected on our rare night out.
Customer service can be difficult and takes a lot of patience, been in it for 6 years as well, at the same time, this is the scope of the job.
We don't always get to eat out. The night did not need the attitudes of an individual disliking one's job or having a bad day.
We asked questions to make sure we understood what we were ordering as Japanese food isn't our Forte.
Unclear if take out is offered. If we really need to eat Japanese food and this location is the most convenient, would opt for take out.
We went there 2 months ago few days ago. 2 months ago was perfect. This time we ordered the beefy wild. Almost no meat. Small slices with lots of fat. And we could not see the green staff either. For sure the quality went down
Amazing experience great quick service quality food you pay for what you get. Well worth it it’s a must try spot. Will be my favorite spot I’ve ever eaten
Had the beefy wild and it did not disappoint! So flavorful. Had it delivered, quality still great.
Goodness! Fell on this place by happenstance and the very kind young lady that was seating at the time. The food is mind blowing! The taste is so rich and deep. Thank you guys so much!
Came with my friend. The service was horrible. Younger server took order and asked about water. I wanted hot water but I was told only has warm water, but it never came. I never got any water until asked for it.
Ordered 2 ramen and 2 appetizers and 1 beer to share. After a while my friend got ramen, then finally got beer, then 2 appetizers. I never got my ramen until I asked for. I think they might have forgot to punch in my ramen order.
I got Beefy Seabura. Thick soup is what I usually like, but it was so oily. A lot of beef fat in the ramen bowl. The soup was slightly sweet.
I don’t like complaining and it’s my first time to not to give 4 or 5 star.
However I was really disappointed about the service and ramen quality.
