I literally have no idea how there are high reviews. We booked for 9 am and said we'd arrive late by 9: 21 am. Noone was around and the gate was locked. We waited until Kristy's daughter walked up to the gate at 10: 08 am without a word and unlocked it. She didn't introduce herself and just walked away so I asked her what happened and who she was. She lied completely, saying she came "early" and left at 9: 25 am, even though we arrived at the farm before then and didn't see a soul. The animals are not healthy, the horse and pony are emaciated with facial rashes and and we were so shocked to see how messy, disorganized and run down the farm was. There are not 19 species of animals, and they SELL their animals. Kristy's daughter said she was there to sell animals and brushed us off saying to reschedule. It's hard to do this as we are from Canada. She was so utterly unprofessional, rude, and made no eye contact whatsoever.

This farm is not taking care of their animals, once you walk in you can tell there is seriously something wrong. Trust your gut and do not pay for a tour here.

My family loved our experience! The staff was very friendly and informative. You can tell they really care about what they do and the animals wellbeing. Highly recommend checking them out!

One of the Best places in Hawaii. This educational farm supports you and nourishes your mind, body and spirit. There is an authenticity and aliveness of the land and animals. Nature, animals and the owner create such a wonderful, memorable experience. It’s healing and restorative. It reinforces the concepts of inter-beings and interconnectedness of humans, land, and animals.

Really really enjoyed our time here. We came with our extended family so there were 8 adults and 4 kids (between 1 and 7 years old) in our group and everyone had a wonderful time interacting with all the animals, feeding them and having a ton of fun relaxing with all the different animals.

The kids especially even mentioned that this was their favorite part of the entire trip because they got to be up close with bunnies, chickens, ducks, pigs, horses and many more animals. I would highly recommend this as an activity for any family with kids.

The very last thing we did on Kauai and such an awesome way to end our trip! So much love on this farm! Christy introduced us to all the current residents and then let us gravitate back to the animals we wanted to spend more time with. One son headed off to the baby chicks, my daughter to the bunnies, I couldn't stop scratching and petting the tortoises, my husband enjoyed the goats. This is more than an animal rescue, this is therapy for humans! Time slows and you get lost in feeding the boars ripe guava and being awestruck at how soft chinchillas are and coaxing the pea hen to eat before a gutsy duck steals her food. Christy is creating a haven for humans, animals, even plants as she builds and improves this self-sustaining preserve. Can't recommend enough!

An amazing experience! The work that is being done at this rescue is inspirational. Thank you Auntie for sharing your story and the animals under your care with us and allowing us to support the local community on our visit!

Highly recommend!

The best place to take your family! Our toddler and teen loved it (and the kid in between) as did the parents! Great family runs this place. Great purpose. Get up close and personal with the animals. Make your reservation- you’ll probably be the only group there. They really regulate how many people are there for the safety of the animals. It’s really about learning and growing through animal husbandry and taking care of the land. It was a highlight of our trip. After 8 trips to Kauai, finding this was a gem. Will definitely return.

My wife and I love this place. It’s tucked away and a little hard to find but it’s worthwhile taking your family here, seeing so many different types of farm animals and being able to connect with them in an intimate environment. Ownership does an excellent job showing you around, but at the same time letting you explore the grounds on your own.

We had a great time at KAEF with all the cute animals. We got to feed a baby goat and calf and got to meet all of the farm‘s lovely inhabitants. If you get the chance, you should definitely swing by and support this amazing cause. Thanks so much for the fantastic tour.

This was a highlight of my Kauai trip! My family absolutely loved it as well. The beautiful experience of connecting with the land, plants and animals that Christy has taken in and saved in this sanctuary was just such a meaningful heartfelt thing to do. The little cute friends we all met made this a magical experience. Thank you Christy for having the biggest heart to create this space and educate us all on the animals and native plants of Hawaii, I appreciate all your time and efforts! I can't wait to bring more friends to this sanctuary.
