This place was the ultimate relaxation destination! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a different experience from the crowded beach resorts.

We stayed here for our Honeymoon and had the most amazing time! The inn was such a beautiful spot and we enjoyed relaxing on the lanai and its a great spot to enjoy your Kauai Coffee. Lorna was so sweet and accommodating. She recommended local spots and really wants you to have the best experience. We love Kauai and the Kauai Banyan Inn. We can't wait to come back!

This magnificent property is truly an impressively cultivated home opened up to guests. Other than staying with family or friends, it’s hard to imagine the type of hospitality that Lorna and John provide. Our week long stay in the Koa Suite was nothing short of fantastic. The view to the banyan tree from the deck and across the valley is gorgeous and really is the best spot for bird watching. The room is spacious and the bed is easy to drop like a log in. I loved the location away from the large hotels, but still a 7 minute drive from swimmable beaches and just 25 from the airport. My girlfriend and I have discussed how hard it will be to choose another room on our next trip, or stick with the Koa. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about our experience here.

My husband and I stayed at the Banyan Inn for four days and spent the last few nights on the other side of the island. We genuinely felt ‘homesick’ after leaving this incredible place! We personally loved the food, people and views on the south shore. The North shore would have been good as a day trip and to visit Haena State Park (reservation required). The best part of our stay at Kauai Banyan Inn was escaping from the crowds to Ulu. The views far exceeded our expectations and it was very quiet. The room was clean and fully stocked with anything we needed, the owners are kind and accommodating. It is the most serene place I’ve ever stayed at. We will definitely be returning!

This place was the perfect stay- from the views, to the stocked kitchenette, to the wide selection of beach supplies- we couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you Lorna for an amazing end to our honeymoon.

We had a lovely stay at Kauai Banyan Inn! We stayed in the Ali’i Suite — it was spacious, clean, comfortable, and the view was unreal. We loved waking up to the sunrise and the roosters each morning. Lorna also left us some fruit and other treats to snack on during our stay. Would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend it!

If I could give this place 100 out of 10 stars, I would.

Headline: If you are a person who works hard and is looking forward to a *peaceful*, secluded vacation on Kauai, free from the hassles and busy nature of hotels and resorts, who wants to wake up and look out their balcony at the tranquil, breathtaking backdrops of mountains and banyan trees…. You want to book a room here, right away.

My husband and I came to Kauai for the final 3 nights of our honeymoon and decided to stray from typical lodging for a more authentic experience. We had just left a very busy resort on Oahu, full of large families and toddlers, and were seeking a quiet and restorative end to our trip. I fell in love with the picture of the inn on the internet, but they simply don’t do this place justice.

There are 4 suites available in the inn, all named after Hawaiian cultural staples. We stayed in the least expensive suite, the Koa Suite, named after the Acacia Koa, a tree endemic to Hawaii. The suite had a private front door leading out to a balcony, where we had our own patio set. Our room had a queen sized mattress, comfortable chairs, a kitchenette that was fully stocked, and a spacious bathroom. The suite was significantly better than any of the hotels nearby that were requesting double what we paid. The view = priceless.

What we cannot speak highly enough of is the fantastic hospitality offered to us by Lorna and her husband. On arrival she had snacks in a basket in the kitchen, coffee, butter, eggs - simple things that make your life so much easier when you don’t need to hunt them down! There are beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for your beach days. Laundry for your convenience. A really cute friendly cat to pet when you’re hanging out in the area.

We didn’t meet Lorna until our last day on the island and honestly were surprised that we ran into anyone at all. The inn is delightfully quiet during the day and night. Lorna and her husband are quite possibly the kindest people you will ever meet. They are so welcoming and love to share the beauty of their property with the travelers that come. You will enjoy all of the wonder and excitement of vacation, but you will also feel the comfort and safety that you feel at home.

Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend this site to all travelers that come to Kauai brimming with wanderlust and seek a unique, local place to stay. We will be booking here, and only here, in the future.

My husband and I had an absolutely splendid time at this bed and breakfast. It was the perfect unplug from our busy city life. This was our last vacation before having a baby, due in just 1.5mo. They had beach towels and chairs that you could borrow for the day, which we took advantage of. Everyone we spoke to on property was extremely kind. Will definitely be back after our daughter in born! Highly recommend staying here.

We cannot say enough about the Kauai Banyan Inn. The room was spacious and beautiful. The deck was even more spacious, with gorgeous views. I don't think we've ever stayed in a place where we've literally wanted for nothing. Kitchen supplies (microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, toaster and even a blender), beach supplies, bathroom supplies, deck supplies, grilling supplies, etc. There were even trekking poles to borrow. Sunrises were spectacular and we watched it every morning from the deck. Frequent, but very quick, showers produced multiple rainbows throughout our stay. Best of all, the Inn comes with gracious hosts who offer accommodations that are far away from the hotels and tourist spots. Good location for exploring the island and also for a quiet day at "home. My wife and I LOVE the Kauai Banyan Inn. The owners are super friendly. The accommodations are too notch. The Inn is located in a natural wildlife area and is very private away from the crowds. I have traveled all over the world and hands-down, this is the best Inn I have had the privilege to stay.

Lorna is just the sweetest hostess ever! My daughter and I stayed here the first half of our trip and I wish we had stayed here the whole trip. The room gets a little bit warm but we opened up all the windows and slept with everything opened up and slept very comfortably! We stayed in the Ani’i suite and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! I inquired about it because I want to buy the same bed! There was beach gear, towels, umbrellas, and a sweet little welcome basket and note. Just a truly remarkable location of the trees and ocean. And an even more remarkable hostess! I would book here again in a heartbeat!
