I was here today September 12th. What a wonderful experience and to learn about Hawaiian culture! The club introduced us to chants to welcome the sunrise. The paddle of an outrigger canoe can be done by anyone with minimal experience! They give excellent instruction for paddling and getting in and out of the boat. After seeing turtles and stopping a couple times they have great coffee and snacks. If you have time, go for a visitor paddle, you will be glad you did. Highly recommend!

The visitor paddle is a great experience for those looking to participate in a paddle with a community group. They are all friendly and offered a variety of pastries at the end, which were delicious! Lots of fun, would recommend over the more expensive hotel outrigger experiences considering all fees go to support the club.

We had a great experience going out on the outriggers with this club. Adele, David and one other (sorry I forgot your name!) gave us a little history of the area as we paddled around the bay.

Was recommended to do the “visitor paddle” by a friend and member of the group. Highly enjoyed our experience and definitely recommend this experience or joining the club if you’re a local. This is something you won’t find on a “Maui must do” website and you get a very local experience. By reading reviews, it seems like the experience has changed slightly over the years, here is what we did 2023:

Arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled time & were given some paddling instructions and assigned a canoe. Led in a traditional Hawaiian chant to welcome the sun. Paddled ~15 minutes and landed next to Kealia a “Loko i`a” (fishpond). Got to see this sanctuary which is being restored and the caretaker, who happened to be there, gave us a great history of the Hawaaiin “Loko i’a” and the volunteer work he is doing. There are honu sea turtles who often bathe on the rocks here. We then left to paddle back to shore. We were told they often stop halfway to let people swim, but it was extremely windy and we all had to work hard to get back to shore. They then had lots of breakfast treats and coffee and you could stay and chat with everyone. All of the members were so friendly and even gave us advice on what to do on the island.
A mandatory $40 donation is needed to book, but it is going to a great cause. It is tax deductible, but thought it was strange to be called a donation since it was required.
Although you don’t need to be in amazing shape, this is a physical activity and they do expect you to help paddle, so if you’re just wanting a joy ride, this might not be an activity for you.

If you have a chance, visit the KCC. The Visitor paddle was Awesome! So generous of them to open their club and spirit for the public to enjoy. We had a great time! Thank you KCC!

This canoe club offers visitor paddle outings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We've done it twice and had a great time! You have to paddle as one and will stop a few times for breaks or to watch whales. The first time our "instructors" (club members) were quite strict, and the second time they were very chill. I guess your experience will depend on who is leading your canoe.

No Aloha Spirit. They have shut the water off to the park fresh water, instead they turn on fresh water when they wash there boats. What a waste. They hate the homeless and anyone who isn't the same, economically or socially equal.
No Merry Christmas no hellos no aloha what privileged the county of Maui never should have sold that park to the.
2023 water back on. Sometimes you just got g give it up to the public
