Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge reviews
15Wow! Reminds you that the world is bigger than you! If you need reminding.odds are.most do.
Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge is simply spectacular. Its marvelous views showcase a dazzling palette of blues, and nature unfolds in all its splendor. The sky provides a mind-blowing spectacle, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re on a trip and have a car, whether it’s rented or your own. Experiencing the sound of the sea and its surroundings is an unforgettable experience.
Visited Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge and discovered that even the seals know how to strike a pose better than I do in photos! The breathtaking views made me question if I accidentally stumbled into a real-life screensaver. The only eruption here is from the whales showing off their water acrobatics. Highly recommended for a day of nature.
Short but nice visit - we easily saw everything in about 30 minutes and learned/were reminded several.things about common shore birds.
Beautiful views and many birds. Make sure you get a reservation so you can see the lighthouse.
See sea birds close up. On the ground and in the air. Baby Shearwaters are in burrows on the ground. Stand near the cliff and birds swoop thru the air in front of you.
We live on the island and never get tired of visiting and learning more about the beautiful birds and marine life that lives here
Great view! Loved the light house. Sorry we didn't get to see any whales, turtles, or dolphins. Maybe next time.
Beautiful area with panoramic views from the lighthouse. You can park and get decent views just outside the Refuge but the Refuge has amazing panoramic views, a neat gift shop and a staff that can explain the local wildlife and flora.
Natural point with historical lighthouse that you can walk to. Binoculars available to borrow. Views of ocean, coastline, animals, and birds. Trails for hiking.
Wish I had known to book a tour in advance so I never passed the gate, It sure was lovely looking at the light house and surrounding ocean and cliffs and waves.
Lighthouse Park requires an online reservation in advance before driving in. There is a checkpoint to check the status of your reservation.
It's a beautiful spot, but you have to buy a costly membership to enter and didn't do so since we were just driving up to sight see.
Amazingly beautiful place. Seen turtles and NeNe goose, baby birds of all sorts. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Looks like is closed. I am disappointed cause I wanted to walk around the lighthouse. And the maps does not say anything about to be closed.
