Kohala Coffee Mill reviews
25We love Waimea Coffee Company and were extremely happy to discover that this place is the same owner. Kohala Coffee Mill is a fantastic place to get coffee and other great food options. They have a great selection of non dairy milk so great for vegans looking for a fantastic cup of coffee. The latte is my favorite hot or iced with oat milk, amazingly smooth and delicious. If you are in Hawai or just passing through on your way to Pololu valley, Kohala Coffee Mill is a must stop place. Located in Historic Hawi Town this place adds to the quaintness of the town. My favorite place to get coffee in Kohala!
Rude and unprofessional employees
forgetting orders multiple of times, complaining loudly for asking for water and making drinks with their backpack on. The coffee is mediocre & ice-cream is just like any other store bought desserts. The pastry is mediocre also. Save yourself a trip and avoid this place.
Delicious coconut-flavored latte, fantastic live music, and island vibes. What more could you want? ! So glad I was there when they had reopened!
I had the Moa - no photo because I ate it quick fast. Top notch, fresh ingredients, and a chef who clearly knows how to put together flavors. House made pesto was insane, and I could eat the sweet potato salad every day. Delicious. I haven’t tried the ice cream yet, but looking forward to it. Mahalo for the great service and food!
I am not usually one to go into a coffee shop because I normally brew my own cup of mocha at home for breakfast and that's the only cup of coffee I allow myself - mainly due to a hypersensitivity to caffeine. But with great coffees and delicious desserts and entrees served at Kohala Coffee Mill, it would be easy to forget about that limitation and, like me, you'd find yourself coming again to this delightful coffee shop. The people here are great servers and the customers seem to learn their friendly manner quite easily and don't mind starting up a conversation with anyone around. I stayed longer than I planned and made some new friends as well as had a delicious morning break at Kohala Coffee Mill.
We were driving to the mountains, green spaces along the Big Island coast & happened upon this sweet spot! Lovely, quaint atmosphere with friendly service and tasty coffee drinks and treats! Thanks!
Great little coffee house in Hawi serving excellent lattes. They have Kona coffee which is quite spendy. Nice outdoor seating area. Check out the ukelala shop across the street.
I think you could have put something on your website you were closing.
Came from quite a bit away. Won’t be back.
Driving through Hawi and I wanted a coffee so we stopped in. The "kids" behind the counter were a little more interested in talking to each other than taking my order. Once I did order it was made reasonably quickly. My drink tasted good, I was pleased with it. Overall it was a decent stop in a cute little town, but the service could stand to improve.
Their Ulu burger is unique and delicious, and the affogato may be the best thing we’ve tasted on our 3 trips to the islands. Staff is friendly, and the whole place exudes an authentic Hawaiian vibe. Definitely not to be missed!
Great little place! Got an oced latte after the hike and it was a delicious refresher. Friendly staff, too. Definitely recimmend stopping in before or after a hike, or both!
A must-stop in Hawi town. Great coffee, ice cream, smoothies, sandwiches and occasional live entertainment. Just chill Hawaiian style at this local hotspot and get a nice caffeine buzz to explore the surrounding boutique shops and art galleries.
Very popular. They were out of most tropical dream flavors by the time we got there at 10: 30 am. One scoop is, about $5. The Kohala Road was good but not better than the Mikawaya chocolate mochi we can get in the local market.
Great ice creams of yummy tropical flavors made from "Tropical Dreams". Yummy coffees from Kona Coffee farms. All so good! Muffins, croissants, and other nicely prepared foods that go nicely pared with your coffee! Hawi Town is a delight as well!
Great vibes, great coffee. That local spot with street appeal. The pastries were delicious. Came wait to come back.
Edit: Wanted coffee, got a $4 Latte. Dafuq is a latte? Screwed up order on second visit.
I have to stop here every time I'm in Hawi for my Tropical Dreams ice cream fix. Great ice cream, but please make the purple yam ice cream permanent instead of seasonal-it's incredible.
Very nice place to stop for variety of local coffee (which are great) or even breakfast / lunch altogether – guys do run very nice shop over here. Staff is very friendly, atmosphere is more like “local spot” (not touristy place) and overall impression about this place is very positive!
Breakfast burrito with bacon and cheese had the fluffiest eggs, crispy edges tortilla = yummy, delicious and filling. Latte was fantastic. Sustainable. Highly recommend!
A total rip off. One steamed egg and two slices of cheap toast for $5? Sorry, that is not value for money. Never ever again.
Only bad thing about this place is that it's overrun with people. But that's also a clue as to how good it is.
