Kona Bay Books, Kailua-Kona HI

A very nice place to buy books, where you can find everything from your favorite novel to countless Hawaiian history books. The owner is very attentive and pleasant, as is the bookstore cat.

Friendly and helpful. Great selection of books, many used books in great condition at great prices. Perfect for our visit.

The sunshine of a fair summer morning fell graciously on Kona town. After a quick breakfast of a wink of whiskey and a pot of coffee I felt right-o after the raucous revels of the previous evening (aloha to Miss Dillings) and decided an afternoon of reading on the warm sands of the Big Island was a pleasantly swell proposition. And oh the treat of discovering Kona Bay Books! A bright, sunny shop with a little bit everything! To boot, I was introduced to Tobi, the shop’s cat and devoted guardian of the realm. Wonderful experience!

Such a sweetheart was the lady helping me find exactly what I was looking for. A wide variety and a ton of surprises. I will be making Kona Bay Books a regular visit.

Staff was knowledgeable and super helpful, very friendly and sweet. The new location is so nice. This place is packed full of books but it's nice and neat. Got 2 nice quality used books for at least 1/2 price of brand new in a chain retail store. Will definitely be back soon.

Who doesn't love a good used book store? FULL of books, very nicely arranged. Labeled shelves, tables of new releases and recommendations. A comfy chair (but don't camp out), really nice selection of all kinds of new and used books. An island asset. Great place.

Super loved this book store! A collection of new and gently used books has something for everyone. I asked a staff member if she liked recommending books and she was excited to try. I gave her a few names of books I’ve recently enjoyed and a couple authors I often fall back on. She did a fabulous job of encouraging me to try a local author whose book The Codebreakers Secret has already stolen my heart (I’m only 100 pages in and I LOVE it) plus she gave me a tour of their top five suspense authors, three I know well and two newer to me. My hubby also found two great books. Ready, set, relax!

Bookshop of new and second-hand books. Friendly staff. I bought a children's book and a Hawaiian story book at a good price.

Staff was very helpful. And we found a book which was the most important part of one of our members trip! Lol
