Kona Chinese Deli (Hawaii BBQ Deli) reviews
9I ordered the kalua pork and cabbage, and it was amazing. Portion was huge, and it was hot and fresh. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp. It was fried and not shelled which made it difficult to peel. He said it was overcooked. Women’s toilets would not flush. Men’s bathroom had no soap.
I've been to the Big Island twice now and this is a must stop for my family. The food is fantastic, reasonably priced and well portioned. Their take on Crispy Ginger Chicken is inspirational and the Calamari is extremely flavorful. Between our family of 6 we have eaten almost the entire menu in our few visits and there have been no complaints.
Delicious Chinese/Asian Hawaiian fusion food. Reasonable pricing and friendly cashier. It’s a down-to-earth kind of place. We especially enjoyed their saimin, Garlic Shrimps, Shrimp Eggplants, Meat Jun and Hot & Sour soup. Their Garlic Baby Bok Choy is pretty authentic. Will definitely come back!
Best TAKEOUT Chinese food I have had on the island! And I have had a lot of Chinese food! I will be coming here over and over again! Friendly staff member took my order and the cooks got it ready in about 15min! I was so impressed
Good neighborhood Chinese deli. I mostly grab lunch from here once a week. I visit this lunch counter more frequently than any of the others next to it as it's less expensive and I can usually make 2 meals out of a plate lunch. I recommend the garlic chicken and the honey walnut shrimp
Rude dumb woman taking orders (the thicker shorter one). I ordered and tipped and then asked if she could fill our water bottle and was told to buy water. Well l complained and told her that l had just tipped on top a +$30 dinner and l was upset that she refused to fill the bottle. She acted like she didn't understand, so either she's really bad at English, or just rude and stupid. Food is ok.
We ate here several times on our trip and every time was delicious. We had their teriyaki chicken, orange chicken, chicken katsu, crab rangoon, and more. Good service & location.
Excellent food, fast friendly service, a must stop on the way to Kona. Shrimp musubi and grilled mahi are especially delicious
We visited from the nearby hotel.it’s walkable.the food was ok, not bad but the lady working there was curt.very curt.no warmth.no conversation, and scowling.it kinda ruined it and my husband and I both were surprised by her rudeness.not to just us, but to the other people in front of us who asked how she was doing.when we decided to order a few more items she clearly looked upset that we inconvenienced ishe just scowled.if they get someone better at the register the rating would be higher.
