Kona Wave Cafe reviews
14Went here for breakfast and it was good. I had the kona wave latte and it was good. The right amount of sweet and smooth. I also tried to island acai bowl and absolutely loved it. The fruit in the top was sweet and ripe and complimented the acai and granola. My mom had agadao (sp?) which was their ice cream in coffee and she's obsessed lol. Definitely recommend especially if you're staying at any hotel near the Cafe.
Meh açaí bowls. Maybe your only choice if that’s what you really want. Shop opened 45 minutes late. Sign said staffing shortage. They have coffee but the two ladies didn’t know how to use the espresso machine. Go to HiCo if you want good coffee.
Went there to get the acai bowl and ended up getting shave ice also. No specific comments about the food, the shop is located at a nice location across from the Kona waterfront.
This place has the best coffee that we’ve found on the island. The lattes are consistently well made and the espresso is delicious and smooth. The açaí bowls are also really tasty and filled with fresh fruit!
Delicious. Got the shaved iced. Volcano and a Mango one. It was amazing. It looked beautiful and tasted just as good.
Get some lunch at Big Kahuna then stop here for dessert.
Tasty açaí bowl! Base is blended with blueberry, not sour and lightly sweet. A lot of granola! Not sweet but crunchy! It’s like I’m eating a bowl of granola lol. I think it’s too much
I ordered the monkey bowl with pineapple, goji berries and mochi. The pb is a lot as well! The most special thing is that I can add mochi in the bowl!
Fruits are not very sweet, but fresh.
Overall I like the taste and texture of the base but too much granola!
Love their Acai bowls! Best in Kona. It is a little hard to find since it is off the road. It is located south of Quinn's and east of the old Splashers Grill.
Very good Açaí Bowls!
What I really like is that they don’t oversugar it, like many places; you taste the ingredients and not just sugar.
Huge shaved ice desert perfect for a humid summer day. Daughter is hooked now I need to learn how to make this back in the bay area.
Decent açai bowls and average prices, longer wait than other places in town due to the popularity with tourists. Small crowded outdoor seating, parking is limited and I couldn’t go the first time since there was no parking. Service was friendly but seemed short staffed. As a local girl born and raised here, I could see no other locals working there or buying from there. They cater to tourists understandably given the location. Don’t see myself returning.
I tried the Kona wave bowl and kona wave latte - they were both amazing. Their acai portions are better than some others that I've tried so I definitely recommend this place.
They also open early enough so that you can grab breakfast here before starting the day.
Kona Wave Bowl was the BOMB! Perfect Granola to Açaí ratio, definitely going back! Mahalos Kona Wave! Apologies on the no photos, couldn’t wait!
This is really just a hole in the wall but worth it! They have a few tables to sit on outside. I came to have an Açai Bowl and treated myself with a small Kona Wave Bowl. Very tasty and not too sweet! The only thing is that there are no parking spaces but it's in walking distance to the beach and you can stroll in the area.
Best acai bowl I've ever had. I'm a big guy and was very happy with the size of the large. I'm also cheap and definitely got my money's worth.
