Private campsite located on the east coast of Kauai. We stayed in a tent pitch, without electricity but with a dedicated table. There is a kitchen for preparing meals and common bathrooms (accessible only to campsite guests). Electricity is present in the refreshment area. The structure appears a little dated, but in any case it is one of the very few campsites in KAUAI that allows you to stay with a tent on the roof of the car (rooftop tent allowed). There is a beach in front of the campsite, but the left side is frequented by locals and is a bit noisy.

Not recommended, maybe if you really just want to camp, but the value for money is not good! Bungalow was ok, very small, no electricity/light, but everything was very old, neglected, toilets and showers were dirty, old, there was a lot of rubbish/tempos on our private veranda/the shower was pretty broken and run down, for 100€ that Really not recommended night! It is very uncomfortable at night because it is cold and hot. The beach is nice but not suitable for swimming or sunbathing, very wild and not that beautiful. Since we had to leave 3 days early due to a meditated emergency, we weren't even reimbursed a small amount, so it would have been very nice to reimburse at least one night and be a little accommodating.

The beach is beautiful. Campsites are rather small but they each have a picnic table which was nice. Hot showers were nice but note that there isn’t 24/7 electricity so be sure to charge your devices before 9: 30ish PM.

We enjoyed every minute in Kumu Camp! Perfect location, very quiet, really clean for a camp and THE PEOPLE! Wow, what an experience and the vibe. We can’t wait to go back to Kauai in a few years and will definitely be staying in our cozy little bunglov in Kumu Camp again

We had the most amazing time at Kumu Camp! We camped three nights, two days and loved every second of it. Incredible location, very friendly vibe, wonderful beach, close to some of the most beautiful places on the island. I highly recommend the outdoor shower! Only negative was that guests couldn’t seem to figure out where the recycling is (it’s at the back folks), filling the kitchen up with cans and bottles. But that’s not Kumu Camps fault! I highly recommend staying here. We would have been happy to stay for much longer.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We stayed in a tentalow which provided a nice relief from tent camping the week prior, the room was clean, comfortable, private, and had lights and a warm shower which was more than we anticipated. Kumu offers more amenities than state campgrounds like anini or salt pond (warm showers, free coffee in the morning, outdoor kitchen) but allows you to be in touch with nature as it’s right on the beach. Everyone there was super friendly and Donna was great! People do drive on the beach but we had no problems whatsoever, all we could hear was the wind and the waves. The location itself is quite good as you can access the north shore in 20-30 minutes by car, and still access the south shore. Although personally I prefer the beaches on the north shore to those on the east or south shore. Overall, I would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

A little expensive but you get hot showers, good restrooms and nice picnic area right next to the beach for it

Rented a camp sight. Super clean and lots of utilities for use. Perfect vacation, right on the beach. Felt extremely safe for young female travelers!

I only gave one star for the location, otherwise it is to be avoided. Dirty bathrooms with very dirty showers, sometimes there is no water at all. There is no hot water in the morning. You don't know where to throw the garbage because it's full. The place used in the kitchen (if you can call it that) is dirty that you risk some disease. Nice bathrooms toilet paper is missing and no one checks. It must be said that there are only two toilets with two showers, so it could be cleaned quickly but it seems that nobody cares about them. The wi-fi does not work and to charge a phone you have to get up at 04.00am to find a free socket. Therefore I do not recommend this place also because for 25$ per person per night it is better to go to an accommodation. Ps: I start by saying that I am a person who travels a lot and stays in campsites but never seen as dirty as this one. I absolutely do not recommend it. The only positive note is because it has a beautiful beach

Felt like home. Public kitchen free to use, grocery store nearby, clean toilets and showers. Beautiful beach with easy swimming, complimentary coffee between 7.30 and 8.30am

A very nice place with privacy. Sanitary facilities clean and functional and outdoor kitchen fully ok. When everyone cleans up their residues. In the morning there is free coffee and friendly conversation. The atmosphere in this place is loving and very pleasant.
At night it can get noisy as big local boys spin their wheelies on the beach.

We used this as a base camp for a 6-night stay on the island. It served this role very well.

Kumu is a nice beach campground with a lovely camp host. There's a covered common outdoor kitchen (with charcoal bbq's, byo fuel; also some people have donated their canisters of camp fuel) and a large gazebo with seating.

Anahola is a local's beach and it's chill except for the pickup trucks and occasional dirt bike driving by. The park has a decent swim area with a life guard. The nearby general store has the usual convenience store items and its deli is stocked with good sushi and poké; it's colocated with the bus stop, post office, and a burger stand.

My partner and I had the best time staying at Kumu Camp! We stayed 5 nights in a tent site right on the beach, and then extended our trip for one extra night in a bungalow. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained and have hot water in the indoor showers. They also have outdoor showers without hot water, which we opted for to cool off from the hot Hawaiian sun. There’s a little outdoor kitchen area for washing dishes that was super convenient. Donna, the camp manager, is the sweetest. We joined her for complimentary coffee every morning. She had great stories to share and recommendations for our stay on the island. The location is also amazing- we fell in love with Anahola. If you want to get away from the crowds and resorts this is a great place to stay. Camping helped us feel more immersed in nature and build a stronger connection with the island. Just a reminder that the bungalows are not hotel rooms! You’ll have to bring your own flashlights or headlamps, blankets, and towels. But it’s entirely worth it! We will definitely stay here again for our next Kauai trip

This location on the beach in Anahola is amazing. Perfectly in the middle of the island. Donna and her husband are a bundle of knowledge and hospitality. If you want to save thousands and have a better experience in Kauai? Go to KUMU Camp! ALoha and Mahalo. See you soon A lot of these pics are OF THE CAMP from above

Great spot on the island, wish we had booked for longer. Stayed in one of the bungalows right off the beach and it was beautiful! Keep in mind it's a campground, so adjust expectations accordingly. We appreciated camping without having to bring the typical gear -just a blanket/towel for sleeping. We felt comfortable, safe, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here as a couple.

We love camp kumu. This is our second year in a row staying here. We have done both rent and a bungalow. When we showed up to the bungalow we had an issue that Donna took care of immediately! You have to keep in mind this is CAMPING, things will not be perfect but if you enjoy the outdoors, free coffee, a place to shower, a place to cook, a place to sleep while listening to the waves hitting the beach, meeting new people from around. Then this is your spot! Thank you Donna for being a fantastic host, we appreciate you and the time we've gotten to chat with you and spend at Kumu!

Went with a girlfriend for a moms getaway. We loved staying here. Felt perfectly safe and locals were kind. Its a drive to anywhere but still able to do plenty of activities everyday!
