Kunia Chinese Restaurant reviews
16 Visiting my auntie in Waipahu and we came here for pre Christmas holiday dinner. This place we consider one of our ohana go to Chinese go to restaurants. I remember my auntie used to take us here all the time.
The owner and waitress are hospitable. Honey Walnut Shrimp, crispy roast pork and any thing salt and pepper are favorites for our family. My mom and auntie are not a big eater, but they are always come out satisfied.
Absolutely the best service I've ever had at a restaurant! My husband and I came for a late dinner tonight and the Hostess Andrea seated us immediately and was so friendly and genuine. We ordered the soft Gau Gee Mein, Mongolian Beef, Mushroom Chicken, and sides of steamed rice. Everything came out quickly and steaming with deliciousness. We ate until we were full and there were still extras to take home for leftovers which is my favorite part! All the servers asked how we were throughout the meal and provided exceptional customer service. This is now my favorite go-to Chinese food spot. The restaurant and bathroom (with a hilarious sign hanging in there) were clean and inviting. I absolutely enjoyed my experience here, Happy Holidays!
I ordered the cold ginger chicken with roast duck. Absolutely delicious! Every bite was full of flavor!
Not too bad of a Chinese restaurant. Some things are good and some not so much. The best thing I've tried so far is their Honey Walnut Shrimp which is better than most other restaurants. Their Chow Fun is also good but I won't be getting their Tofu Eggplant again.
When we got the bill the restaurant had already added a $20 tip and charged tax on the total, and then TOLD us to add an additional tip when paying. This will be our Last time at this restaurant.
Forced to update my original 5-star review since returning again the other day.
The first time visiting, some of the best Chinese food we’ve ever had. It was fresh, it was flavorful, all good stuff.
Second time visiting, food tasted like reheated and recooked food from the previous day. Everything was off or bad. Even noticed different noodle colors mixed in where we could visually tell that leftovers had been combined.
We’re pretty sure they reheat food throughout the day and even from previous days.
Such a shame. They showed us on the first day that they know how to cook good food. There’s just no excuse, especially for the price.
Very accommodating and helpful staff. The food was really good, especially the salt and pepper wings and their spicy pork eggplant. Try to avoid ordering take out if possible. The portions are bigger when dining there.
I most recently started door dashing and found the Chinese Kitchen. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and efficiently run. After 2 dash orders, I decided to partake. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the salt and pepper spicy chicken, the egg rolls and the shrimp fried rice. We will go back and have a sit-down meal. Friendly and hospitable staff.
They were so rude, I will never come back! I’m buying a takeout, they told me it will take about 20 minutes. Then I sit down at a random table, the cashier came to tell me I can’t sit there! By the way, only 20% of the tables were taken at that moment. 垃圾餐馆,中国人只欺负中国人的典范!
This is a really nice little Chinese restaurant. That’s really good atmosphere. The tables are set up nice. It has a huge menu! While this restaurant may not be that big of an incredibly large menu. Food was really good and good service. Kid friendly.
The portion was awesome and even gave me enough that I could take it home and have a good lunch at work tomorrow! This is the general Taos chicken.
Really good food and excellent service! We got there a bit late and there were only a few open tables so you might have a wait at normal times. Try the hot tea!
A favorite place for
Ono roast pork, crispy, long beans w/ minced pork, sweet sour cabbage w/ beef, house special lo mein, & fried flounder (order latter when dining in, when it's hot & crispy)
It was all just okay. We ordered a couple of weeks in advance for the new years special. Nothing really jumped out in terms of taste or flavour. Just basic Chinese food.
This is my first food review ever. Got a family's worth of food delivered. Every dish tasted worse than the last. Even the steamed and fried rice were no good. Dishes not really bland, just was prepared that way lol.
First and last.it's a struggle trying to find a great Chinese restaurant. This is definitely not one of them. Checked this one off the list. Service is decent. Atmosphere was par. Food, not so much. Portions were a little generous. Walnut shrimp was impressive huge shrimp and portion. They have no pork hash. (first Chinese restaurant with no pork hash). Disappointed. Charsiu egg foo young.par but tiny charsiu in it. Salted duck egg tasted old.unusual taste salty but off tasting. Omg.we ordered crispy cake noodle with beef broccoli. Looked like a bird nest.lol taste was ok. Crispy won ton. I don't know what is in the middle but it was not tasty nor pleasing to taste. Usually can't stop eating those.but I couldn't finish one. Choi sum garlic harmha. Tastless. Disappointed.
All in all if the covid destroyed your taste buds and you need your belly filled with Chinese -like food this is your place. I'll stick to Kin Wah in Kaneohe.but will TRY others.
Aloha and enjoy.
