Lava Lava Beach Club, Kapaʻa HI

Our table is out on the sand, 50 feet from the water. It doesn't get much better than this! The Mai Tais are fabulous!

This place is a fun experience. Tables with sand underneath, live music. It was great! The food was also really good. It was a bit pricey, but that's what happens when a place attracts lots of tourists.

Opah special was amazing. I was unsure to try it and glad I did. Looks like the Chef there has it going on with all his dishes and the Coffee Cheesecake was just as good. You won’t be disappointed. Nice a casual with good music.

Worth a stop during the happy hour! We heard good things about breakfast as well but didn't get the opportunity to stop in. We did stop in for lunch and didn't find it worth the stop. But the happy hour time with a coconut Mai Thai was our favorite thing

Vanessa was extremely rude. If she doesn’t like dealing with simple requests when an order is placed, maybe she should reconsider the jobs she chooses. Had a very pleasant experience the whole week except for the night Vanessa worked. This place is too nice to have people who don’t enjoy their job, ruin customer’s experiences. Give the position to someone who understands customer service. Whispering to your co-worker about my request on an order that was wrong, telling me you’re busy, and shaking your head in front of me like a child is rude and makes this place look terrible. You could have simply told me that you would take care of my request right after you were done with your current task, or simply told me to request it with someone else. If you can’t handle simple customer service skills, reconsider where you choose to work.

As a guest of the hotel, I was shocked at the lack of hospitality from the restaurant. Breakfast and lunch are currently served in diner style baskets with plastic cutlery! (Even the salads.) Yuck to plastic! You're on an island in the Pacific Ocean! Breakfast and lunch is also served counter style. Not full service like the website suggests. They are closed during certain hours, which I get, but they won't even let you sit at the numerous tables on the beach when they are closed. I felt I was being scolded by the staff by sitting at an open table when I was a guest at the hotel and more than willing to pay or order something.
(The restaurant is one of the only areas which provides shade.)
Some of the food was very good, some was mediocre. The prices were way too high for what you get, which I would be more than happy to pay if there weren't so many other "rules".
I would say to the owners, if you are closed then rope off the area.
No one was in ts to be scolded on vacation.

First time here seemed a little pricy, but food was great, atmosphere was great, staff was great. Ordered the ribs and got enough for 2 meals. My partner and I liked it so much, we brought the in-laws back.

The restaurant is right on the beach and is a cute spot to grab dinner. The food and drinks were alright. However, the service was very good and the choco lava cake was delicious.

Don’t usually leave reviews unless I’m disturbed or extremely satisfied with service and experience. Saturday Night November 13th, Vanessa, the bartender, gave me the worst and most rude attitudes I have gotten from any service industry member so far. And I was with my 3 year old niece. I refuse to come back to this place. I’m extremely disturbed with my visit, as this island is supposed to be one of the most hospitable places on earth. 16 hour trip for a ruined first Night. What a shame.

Food is mediocre. Service is mediocre. View is great. My family and I felt rushed the whole time. As soon as we say down our waiter wanted too take our order. Half the table hadn't even pulled up the menu to even look at it. We had a party of five and they say us at a small square table. The waiter never told us what the specials were. Once we heard what the specials were, only because the waiter at the next table told them, we wish we could've order that, but it was at the end of our dinner. The food tasted pre made/microwaved. The appetizer was onion rings. They were over fried and burnt. Even though we clearly had a small child with us, we had to ask if there was a kid menu, because the barcode menu was only for adults. The desert was underwhelming. Lava cake looked like a hostess ding dong without the frosting. Very small. The cheesecake tasted like it was bought from gas station. It was supposed to be c coffee flavored. It only tasted like chocolate. Then to add insult to injury or total bill was over $200! I, nor my family had a good time. We would've had a better meal at McDonalds.

We had a great experience at Lava Lava. I am medically gluten free and was disappointed at my food choices on the original menu. I asked the server about the "Hook, Line and Sinker " meal since it is fish. She did a great job of not acting annoyed or put off. She checked with the Chef, and they made a beautiful meal that not only looked gorgeous but also tasted amazing. Thank you for making my whole night! We have been on the island since Thursday (it is now Sunday), and this is the first great meal I have had. Thank you for being so wonderful!

AMAZING SERVICE, VIEW, ENVIRONMENT & ENTERTAINMENT.food & drinks? Meh. But the outdue the other things to look past the ok food. They had a live band that was awesome, with the yard games, a nice firepit and excellent staff.worth going to have a good night:)

Went there for Dinner with Family! The food, Mai tais, staff, more than everything the Beach side dining with Live music was awesome! Must try when you are at Kauai!

Loved this place so much! It was a short walk from our condo which was amazing! This truly is ocean front! Tables are on the beach, food is delicious and the atmosphere is so fun! Lovely live music was played and was non invasive to the experience. It blended well with the surroundings. Would definitely come back again!

Delicious menu and prime beach outdoor dining area. Service was great and the staff were very friendly.
