Awesome place. Great music and food. And the CJ the owner is a really good guy no mater what you might've read or heard.

Great place to get over served and beat down. Owner and staff are known to mace people and beat them up instead of politely asking them to leave!

I went out drinking at lava shack, and BJ Penn showed up blasted. The atmosphere kinda changed. My cousin was telling me we should go, but my cousin’s bf knows him and wanted to have everyone chill out and take a pic with him. BJ looked me up and down and said “nah just us” leaving me out lol. I’m not hurt about the picture-taking, just more-so bummed he eyed me out:/

The "other Lava Bar & Cafe down the road by the Bay Clinic is FAR BETTER with great live music and breakfast & Bloody Mary's to boot. No bother with this place unless you like be 86'd

This place is a chill local hangout spot. We were visiting and it was a great place to relax, get some work done with their free WiFi, sing some karaoke on Sunday night, get a cheap drink and food (I recommend the tots and Lava punch), and play some pool.

I go back and forth to the mainland from Leilani. Love the open mic night there I play drums with those guys a few times great place to have a beer New Castle that is.and chill out and play pool. Always a good time!

Creative drinks (no food) live music GREAT karaoke 2x a week pool tables out back. Smoking area in between there n dance floor plenty room at da bar! Come one come all legal age and up GREAT spot to see friends. Puff li'dat.enjoy life see photos.

Staff is awesome the live music is awesome there's nothing about this place I can' see that I don't like. Excellent place to play pool also.

When you mace a homeless guy in a wheelchair you can rest assured l will never spend a cent in your establishment.
I am not sure how you are even still in business to be quite honest.

Don't support this bar. The manager C. J.is known and been arrested for assulting the local homeless. This town has an endemic of a homeless population. Always has. For some reason C. J.will randomly go outside the bar and violently attack a homeless person with mace. He even beat up, maced and poured ice water on a homeless man who is missing a leg, wheelchair riden and has cancer. All caught on camera and was aired on the news. Why support and give this person money? He has also been heard slandering alcoholics and gays.

Love music and cheap drinks as well as pool tables and a fun atmosphere make this a good bar to visit.
