L&L Hawaiian Barbecue reviews
15 Alright food but the area is absolutely trash. There is a homeless population all around Ala Moana beach and they will pretty much always be at L&L barbecue.
We watched one homeless guy rant about Child P**n in front of the ordering window for about 10 minutes. Nobody in line felt comfortable enough to order so 5 different groups left and went somewhere else. The lady at the window will not say anything to these homeless so you are pretty much at their mercy and subject to their harassment about their ramblings while you wait in line and order.
The homeless also enjoy opening and messing with the condiments on the side window after you get your food so I don’t recommend using any of it.
If that doesn’t scare you off then the homeless picking their toenails and shirtless at the benches will.
L&L is a convenience only because it’s next to the beach for us tourists, there’s good drinks. But if you’re looking for lunch Go eat at Konos BBQ for some better pork and safer eating. Arrangements.
Best Kalua pork, mac salad, pork & cabbage anywhere! Eaten on the beach makes it even better. When you can’t cook, head to L and L Hawaiian BBQ!
Reasonable price for a pretty large portion (I got the BBQ chicken plate) in a nice location right next to the beach. Highly recommend!
Recommend the fried shrimp! You can get the shrimp by itself or in a seafood combo. The seafood combo comes with the fried shrimp and fish fillet with your choice of beef, chicken, or short ribs.
It is located across the beach, which is beautiful, attendant was friendly, We order chicken bbq and shrimp but chicken was greasy and shrimp was undercooked There are a lot of homeless around and birds and flies will bug you all the time. Will not come
I had the grilled Mahi Mahi with 1 scoop of brown rice and 2 scoops of macaroni. My plate was so flavorful, the portion size was generous, and the price was very reasonable. I will be back!
Super convenient since it is right at Ala Moana beach park. The mahi sandwich is good and is my go to order for beach grinds. The kalua pig burger is pretty manini, just a small bun and a small scoop of meat (no lettuce or tomato). And the fries taste like they have been fried in old oil. If you are hungry and didn't bring lunch it is easy and close.
Was good food. The best macaroni I have had while visiting here. If your not used to eating with the homeless and pigeons then get your food to go.
Good food, very generous portions.
Looks like it's a family business. Only hard work can deliver that food with that price
Ramen, Seafood combo and fried fish are sooooo goooood! (btw ramen gives me Taiwanese vibe)
definitely will comeback!
owners are nice and sweet, and the sunset is THE BEST!
Very fast service, open air dinning only but very reasonable for prices and in a great park.
I cannot say enough nice things about this little joint by the beach. The ribs were juicy, the garlic shrimp buttery and crisp and the rice always soft and fluffy. I never once had an issue while on holiday and eating here, and I'd gladly return when I am next in Honolulu: D
Good food, fair prices, quick service, low key hole in the wall place for a quick bite. There's a few picnic tables in the front.
Ay, not bad L&L! Just a hole in a wall takeout containing your ono grinds! Hawaiian Specialties are also served here. Love how it’s right next to the Ala Moana Beach Park as you might need something to munch/drink on! Yeehee!
Food was great! Service was great! Hard working people! The other patrons are sketchy, as there are homeless and "interesting people" that hang out around the location. But that's no fault of the establishment. Not enough tables, take your food to the beach and eat it there.
