Lumeria Maui Retreat Center reviews
15 We loved the stay. The property was quiet and there are a ton of spaces to practice yoga on your own between classes.
I do wish there were more classes offered (there were only two a day during our stay) and there is no food between breakfast and dinner so you either need a car to go to town or need to Uber to a grocery store and get snacks - there is a fridge in the room. Overall though classes were informative, space was tranquil and rooms were lovely.
Set high above Pai’a but still easy access to beaches and shopping when you want to step away from the island breezes, sound bathing, lomi lomi massage or morning yoga. Farm to Table restaurant had bounty of well prepared dishes and hearty breakfast. Will return
Great place to relax.the class offering is great.everything about the location allows time for relaxation
Beautiful resort in a well-maintained and relaxing setting. The resort was at full capacity because our stay coincided with the winds and fires and many of the guests (including us) were either locals or visitors who had to evacuate from the Lahaina side. Even under the tense conditions and full capacity it was still a place that promoted relaxation and peace. The power went out our last night but they provided flash lights and glow sticks.
We call ourselves blessed for having come across this gem of a place. Lumeria is not only a place to rest and unwind but is also incredibly picturesque. Clearly a lot of attention and thought has gone into it. Additionally the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are super comfortable and offer everything required to unwind. We would recommend it to anyone.
We had a wonderful retreat moment.
The hotel is beautiful and the service is top notch.
Special mention to John who over delivers with such kindness and great attitude.and to the kitchen crew who also are both very talented and lovely.
Also great morning classes.
AVOID. You will get hit with so many random fees that show up after you leave on your credit card. They are scammers!
Lumeria Maui is the garden of Eden. Gorgeous property and not crowded. There are views of the ocean and a wide variety of gorgeous tropical plants. Their breakfast is exceptional. The accommodations are very nice - there are no TVs, which was a downside for me. The pool and hot tub were one the best parts of our experience, beautiful and quiet. The Spa experience was incredible. The farm-to-table meal at their on-site restaurant was superb. They offer a wide variety of classes included with your stay which was a plus! We can't wait to visit again!
Wanted to love the place. Beautiful grounds and cool concept. Close to Hana Highway. Filthy room. Cockroach infested. Spiders and an earwig on the walls. Got bit multiple times during the night. Moved to another room in which we immediately found a large cockroach and old smashed insect on the wall.
Drop-in classes channeling the volcanic energy of the islands are the best part of staying at Lumeria. There is usually a wake-up yoga session in the morning slot, followed by more relaxed types as the day advances with pool relaxation in between. The facilities are beautifully kept, expansive and tranquil, with wonderful views: the teachers are excellent and the groups small. Breakfasts were excellent and the chef so helpful – it's a paradise if you need a little break from your life.
The rooms were clean, the service was amazing and you can't beat the location. Nice country side but close enough to restaurants, the beach and hiking. The food was gourmet healthy and that's coming from a foodie.
This was the most relaxing vacation! The property was beautiful! The yoga and other classes were an incredible experience! We would highly recommend Lumeria.
Staying at Lumeria Maui Retreat Center was an awesome and wonderful experience that exceeded all my expectations. This resort is the perfect example of the “upcountry” charm with its charming rooms that have high-ceilings and old Hawaii charm. The river stone-floored showers were a unique touch, and the rooms provided plenty of space to move around. The views from the resort were simply breathtaking, and the pool was well-maintained. I also appreciated the fruit trees that added to the beautiful grounds. The historic lobby and original house were spectacular, and they added to the charm of the resort.
The staff at Lumeria Maui Retreat Center were warm and helpful, and they did everything to make my stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, and I loved having it served on the veranda surrounded by the beautiful garden. The daily variety of classes included at the resort was a great bonus, and I loved participating in them.
I have been fortunate enough to stay at Lumeria Maui Retreat Center twice, and I plan to go again. The resort has everything you could want in a relaxing getaway, and it's the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a peaceful retreat. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.
Love the people here! They treat you with warm hearts, starting from the receptionist guy. Shane, who works in the dining kitchen, is also very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is amazing! We can see some ocean views from our room, and we really like the quietness in the resort.
Wonderful place in upcountry with amazing breakfast and solid dinner. Service by graduate students on Wed March 29th on check in was A+-she cared so much as did the amazing yoga teachers who each have their own style. Grounds are amazing. Lady working Thursday March 30th morning was a bit grumpy about everything (no razor, no toothbrush, 'I cannot tell you confidential information about if someone famous has ever stayed here, ' etc) -she could use some yoga classes to find aloha. She also kept sending passive aggressive texts about leaving hours before the 11am checkout time. Other than her the team was great.
