We made this a must stop after the botanical gardens and we don’t regret it. We just did the free chocolate tasting and it was a lot of fun - you get to learn a litttle and try a lot of chocolates. Even if you don’t like dark chocolate - try these! Some didn’t even have a strong chocolate taste, they were so unique. If you’re worried about them melting, they will ship directly to your house with 2-day shipping.

The complimentary chocolate tasting is a MUST DO in Hawaii! The guy who taught us all about the company was very knowledgeable and super chill! We loved the chocolate and came home with a lot more than we had planned. Beware, you might not like other dark chocolate after trying it from here! My husband loathes dark chocolate, but can’t stop munching on it from this place!

Really cool stop! Take the 15min chocolate tastings. I learned a lot about chocolate and the chocolate industry!

GREAT experience in Kailua. The tasting was informative, low pressure, and very comfortable. Wheelchair accessibility was top notch with a lowered bar area.

Pretty neat that a local man attends college, and the decides to start a chocolate factory in his home town. And now his business is expanding! CONGRATULATIONS!

Amazing chocolate. The tasting is awesome. I loved how they took us from farm to product. Incredible flavors. The wine is great too!

We asked a friend who has a home in Kailua for a recommendation for a rainy day activity, and she said, "you have to go to the Manoa Chocolate Factory! " We did a chocolate tasting, which was much like a wine tasting, and purchased several of our favorites and some gifts for family and friends! What an unexpected treat!

NEVER AGAIN!

I walked in with my husband (without a reservation) as a tourist we love “investing” in small local vendors plus we were referred to them by the rum distillery on the north shore and as a chocolate lover, I wanted to give it a try.

A lady named” Aubrey” gave us a nasty look as we walked in and talked to us in a rush like we were not even there and without making eye contact!

I was planning to spend more than $50 on merchandise to take back to California a few T-shirts and several bars.

I don't even know why I waste my time writing this review but it was not worth the drive for me and whoever asks me I will say NOT TO VISIT!

Take some manners classes lady especially if you are working in the sales industry and representing a brand!

I was fortunate enough to have been able to have a tour of Manoa shortly before the Pandemic hit. As a person who loves seeing how things are done, I was fascinated by the prospect when our boss said we were going to tour a chocolate bar manufacturer on Hawai'i. The presenters were warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and most of all, -passionate- about the process of making chocolate from beginning to end. Getting to taste real cacao, and the fruit of the pod, as well as the nib tea, it really changed my understanding of how much goes into making chocolate. And they go into exquisite detail, quite literally from bean to bar. Along with the tastings at each step, by the end, I'd been convinced to buy some. If more for my Missus than anything else. But I snuck a nibble as well.: D

It was rather good. The lavender infused bar was my personal favourite. And this coming from a non-chocoholic, I enjoyed it immensely. It melts in your mouth so smoothly, coating your tongue with dusky velvet. The floral notes are definite, but not overbearing, taking nothing from the chocolate flavour itself; which is just lush. Best ten bucks I ever spent on a chocolate bar, hands-down.

It's been a few years since then, and we thought we'd try them again. They have new flavours, and we're going to experience a few more. Mahalo nui, Manoa! Well done.

An unassuming storefront in a parking lot off the main road, you'll find Manoa Chocolate!

Stopped in for a {free} tasting, but they know how good their product is, as we walked out with 10+ bars!

They harvest cacao from various areas on Oahu, ferment, roast, and grind it all on site in Kailua! Our favorites were the single varietal 70% dark chocolate cacao bars from Mililani and Kona.you can taste distinct differences depending on where it's harvested from!

Truly bean to bar, we'd highly recommend a stop here if you're anywhere near the Kailua area
