Matson, Honolulu HI

We dropped our Mercedes off at Matson, Honolulu port. Very smooth operation thus far. All personel were very professional and curtiouse. Just received the emailed inspection sheet, looks thorough and accurate.

When you are driving up through the gates they will scan your hand for temperature. And the guards are very nice. They will help you find the parking lot in front of the large Matson building. This is where the fun begins. Be prepared to sit in an open parking lot under one small shade tent that has more people than chairs and don’t forget to keep that mask on outside because that makes sense.

Once you get called (about 45 minutes) you will get up to go in with your family only to be told only one of you can enter the building. We had to explain that the vehicle was my partners and I was the one who made the booking, etc.they let us go in together. As you enter you are blasted with a very refreshing and needed wave of cold air. As you’re eyes clear from sweat and you regain your senses you realize the building has as many seats as the parking lot and the only people enjoying the air conditioning are the 20 employees scattered behind counters and standing guard at all the entrances.

The car was shipped using Montway and everything was good except the car was not put in anyone’s a name. So we had to go to a second counter. After being assisted there where we received exceptionally professional service we didn’t even get a chance to read the paperwork and the guard started in on us about only 1 person per car in the empty building at a time and was very adamant that one of us must leave the building immediately. What a joke for service.

From there it was another quick 30 minute wait and i was on my way. Once inside the air conditioned building with ample room the experience was quite pleasant. With the exception of the guards/customer service personnel who clearly don’t want you to enjoy their air conditioning.

My vehicle arrived 4 days ahead of projected arrival date. This was wonderful!

Had the worst experience not just with shipping our vehicles but dealing with the HQ to get our money back for the damage caused by there negligence but also miss use of our other vehicle. We shipped two vehicles on the same boat. One vehicle was totalled because of the extensive damage while on the ship but our other vehicle had an additional 60miles on the odometer. However they are finding reason not to take responsibility. We shipped two vehicle but only ended up taking home one. We are not in any financial postion to buy another car to replace what they broke. They are cheaper to ship vehicle from Hawai'i but after this experience i do not plan on using them for my other vehicle. My advice is take lots of pictures when you drop off your vehicle and don't sign any document if there is any damage when you pick it up.

My car came back damaged. Took it in to get looked at. It takes 4 -6 weeks to hear anything back. It's been already 3 weeks so I will be checking next week to see what's going on.

One of two companies you can ship your cargo from and to the mainland. Very over priced in my opinion.

Received both cars within 8 days from port to port. Oakland, CA to Honolulu, HI. Great job! Hawaii. More on the inspector experience in Oakland once I get his name.

We had a perfect experience shipping our vehicle to the island. In fact, our car arrived early. We're happy we went with Matson.

The customer service at the Honolulu office is amazing! Not only did I receive excellent service, but I watched how they treated every customer that came through the door while waiting for my car; they are truly great at customer service!

Very friendly staff, pretty efficient. The dude at the gate as you drive in to get your car inspected needs a real attitude adjustment though.

Transported my car safely from California to Hawaii. I read reviews of horrible experiences so I had alot of anxiety about the shipping but everything went without event. I even received my car several days early.

I was very happy that my car made it from the mainland with no damage. They were very professional.

Damaged my car to the tune of $4200, it was brand new off the lot before I shipped it from Long Beach to Oahu, still had dealer tags on it! They claimed it was normal wear and tear and they didn't cover that. I asked for the report from Long Beach that would have noted these supposed existing damages, said there wasn't one. Ask for pictures that they took, I got one grainy photo from the front driver angle in the booth filled with cameras where you pull into the port, I could not see any damage because there was none! They only sent the one picture even though there was like 6 cameras in that booth that took pictures from every angle. They know damn well they would prove they damaged my vehicle. My insurance took care of it, but Matson should have fixed this from the start.

Amazing. Very straight forward process. The staffs have specific task to do & they execute it perfectly. There is not any room for error.

Most of all they were all very friendly.

History: shipped a SUV from mainland by truck and ship to Honolulu - 1411 Sand Island Park.
Pros: opened the door at 8am sharp - first male employee who took the information was professional - agreed to let me use a screwdriver to attach plates I had -given planet of time to check inspect my vehicle - security check out when driving vehicle off Matson lot
Cons: second male employee didn’t explain anything - in contesting some scratches - he just shoved paperwork at me telling me to follow directions- he told me to go through security when leaving- failed to let me know I had to present the ticket that matches the vehicle sticker they remove when leaving the Matson lot - so the security person is angry I wasn’t aware what he was asking for - the second male employee also said they didn’t have any tools there for me to put my license plate on - I told him the first gentleman said it was no problem -typical island poor or unprofessional customer service unless you’re related or a local - the first gentlemen do provide a screwdriver after I called out the second male enployee- basically I spent 2300 for trucking and shopping from the Midwest - I don’t expect the red carpet treatment but do expect professionalism - won’t be returning my business there - go through Pasha - is my advice.

Everything went smoothly and it was easy to set up and even easier to pick up. Fast pick up too! They have a small playground for kids ages approx two to seven-ish. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I hired Nationwide Transport Services and they were blunt about using matson. No wonder! Super great staff and car arrived great

Got my truck from the mainland in the same condition I left it. Fast and good service. I'd use them again.
