Maui Surfer Girls, Wailuku HI

Presley taught myself, my two older brothers and my 66 year old mom how to surf today!
This is one of the first times I have ever surfed-I stood and road 7-8 waves for quite a distance with S-turns included! This is the same experience for my brothers too! I would highly recommend based on all of our experiences alone.
Aside from this: 7 out of 8 of the surfer girl instructors homes burnt down in the fire at Lahaina as well as one of their trucks with all of their surf equipment inside….
From both of these perspectives: please help out as much as you can by booking with them and please include gratuity for their wonderful work (they are now open and running and need bookings because they were closed for months).
We were not aware of these circumstances with the direct staff before scheduling and I’m glad we asked about how they were doing after the fires.
Nearly every encounter on the island has touched our hearts with the extreme losses they have all suffered. Many people are still living in shelters here and still go to work everyday. Please do what you can for these amazing human beings!

My adult daughter wanted to try surfing while we were vacationing in Maui. So I found Maui Surfer Girls online and contacted them. They were very responsive, told me a group lesson was good for first outing, then a private lesson the next day. So that’s what we did…my daughter was able to stand up and surf by the second day! We were so happy we got the picture package too because they are far enough off shore that a camera phone won’t do. They take great pictures!

Maui surfer girls were outstanding with my 7 and 10 year old! Can’t say enough good things about them for pre trip communication, willingness to accommodate if my 7 got scared and didn’t want to go, and communication during my trip for the location. Also, they really hit it off with my kids and made this experience truly memorable for both of them! They obviously value the consumer and the love for surfing. I was so satisfied, I tipped each instructor $50.

If there is one thing to kind of gripe about it was the photography situation. To be clear, I think the photographer is independent of Maui Surfer Girls, so this doesn’t impact my five star rating.

During booking it asks “are you interested in photography”. Obviously, my answer is was yes bc I’m interested but not sure what the price is as it is not disclosed. I actually forgot I clicked this and after the lesson the photographer came to ask if we wanted the photos for $90. My wife said no thank you, and the photographer said “but you said you were interested in photography when you booked”. I stepped in to say we will buy them, but did so reluctantly. While purchasing I asked if I could just purchase a few to which the photographer said “no, my boss would not be happy about that”. I swiped the card and called it a day. I left with the feeling of it being an amazing memory but also with the feeling that the photographer pulled a fast one on us. I would have never purchased the pics for $90 if I didn’t feel like me clicking the “interested in photography “ box wasn’t what brought the photographer out.

If they can improve anything at all, it’s this bc the rest was truly amazing. I actually hate having to write the photography part bc I enjoyed this company so much. But in the end, consumers should know.

They Make Water Safety, Reef Awareness, and Surfing Fun and Memorable.

They started by letting us know their goal is to teach us/practice so we can go out and surf on our own. They succeeded.

Whether you're an individual, couple, or a family it's something I recommend for all ages. It was me (50) and my husband (45) who live here in Maui, my sister-in-law (40), and my niece (14) who are visiting for her Birthday. We merged with a group of three younger adults in their 20's. There was also a girl who looked about 7/8 years old getting a private lesson who was also all smiles!

We all stood up and have awesome photos to prove it.

We were blessed to work with Natalie, Hoku, and Kiki. They are professional, kind, patient, fun, and encouraging.

If it's your first time, you need a refresher, or you want to up your surfing game you should schedule with Maui Surfer Girls for a lesson.

Maui surfer girls were absolutely wonderful- easy to book, super sweet people, and my teenage daughter totally loved her surf lesson!

Best instructors with the biggest hearts. I absolutely love surfing and hanging with the MSGs! They are talented, fun, and passionate about what they do, and they give so much back to their community.

I booked private instructors for both my kids. Great instructors, attentive, and fantastic to work with! Thank you for making a morning of surfing super fun!

I had a great experience with Maui Surfer Girls! They were friendly, patient and fun. Lance was awesome instructor.

Presley, Lance, Sylvia and Lara made our family surf day incredible. The children were taught in a private lesson with Sylvia and Lara and both of them stood up within a few minutes of trying. They loved both instructors!
Lance and Presley worked with me a 75 year old grandma and my son and daughter-in-law. We all had a blast with the 2 hour class. I highly recommend The Maui Surfer Girls I love them! This was my third time with Maui Surfer Girls and they are the only ones to work with! Love Them!

Awesome time with Maui Surfer girls. We have surfed with them on 3 separate trips and we always have the best time. Each instructor was fun and did a great job teaching/coaching. Our latest adventure with them was with Presley. She is so awesome to surf with, as are all the instructors. BTW, they are a professional but chill company.

My 7yo son and I had an outstanding beginner lesson with Maui surfer girls! Thanks again to Maggie and Lance for their patient and approachable lesson. My son was really nervous about trying surfing so I was blown away when he zoomed past me after only 10 minutes riding his first wave with a huge smile on his face! Great location. The instructors were very knowledgeable, kind and patient. They went the extra mile to provide a great experience.

MSG really know how to jump start you into surfing! Quick surfing & safety instructions and off you go to catch some waves. Chelsea and Lance were fantastic guides, Ukumehame Beach is an excellent location for first timers like me. I am SUP guy, but now I think I can add surfing to my trips to Maui going forward. Local women owned business. Highly recommend this group. Tip1: You will need to book a few months in advance, especially summer gets filled up quickly! Tip 2: Use their photographer for pictures and just enjoying surfing!

Would never go anywhere else for surf lessons on the Island of Maui. This group of women and men are absolutely amazing
