4A hallowed place in Hawaiian history. Resting place of the Sovereigns and High Chiefs of Hawaii.
Came here with friends after having lunch. A beautiful place! Will have to come back with my husband and kids.
Historic landmark on Oahu, which contains the remains of past Hawaiian royalty. The grounds are beautifully manicured (as it should be), bathrooms are on site and clean, but the one thing that’s missing is accessible information. You can easily Google the names of people you see here for information about their impact on the Kingdom/state of Hawaii but I’d like to see scannable QR codes that lead to interactive websites where you can continue your education about Hawaiian history.
We stopped by today to visit the Royal Mausoleum and had the best tour given by the curator, Kai. We could not have asked for a better experience and had every question answered. I would highly recommend a guided tour around the grounds.
