Mitchell Michelle A MD reviews
16Michelle Mitchell is the worst doctor I ever had. She is a very nice person but, in my opinion, not a very competent physician. I had a friend who was having an actual heart attack, Michelle diagnosed it as heart burn. She told him to stop drinking coffee as it was causing his heart burn. She did not run an ECG on him? ! He quickly found another primary care physician (PCP)! He had a second heart attack, he is in good hands now. I also left her and found an excellent physician to be my PCP. My last appointment with Michelle was her complaining to me that I was costing her too much money. As I was attempting to transfer my medical records to my new doctor, I felt like Michelle’s office was keeping my records hostage. When I called her office about how long it was taking, I was told they could take a full 30 days to complete the transfer. It actually took a few months and I had my first appointment with my new doctor without my records. I am so relieved to be under the care of an excellent physician now.
I am very fortunate to have Michelle Mitchell as a doctor. She is friendly, helpful, listens carefully, has great explanations for what is going on with me medically. The transition from my previous doctor (who retired) went smoothly and quickly. She read all of my information from the previous physicians. Her staff is always friendly and professional. I like how she emphasizes preventative medicine. She searches through my record looking for changes I can make to be in better shape in the future.
Other doctors have turned me down because I am a senior citizen and they didn't want "another medicare patient. " This never came up with Dr. Mitchell.
Her office is sparkling clean and new, great parking. I never have to wait in the waiting room more than a few minutes. What a contrast from the stinky, crumbling mold -streaked medical center across the street.
I am sorry to see all the negative comments on this posting of reviews. I have never experienced even a smidgen of this sort of thing in this medical practice.
I have been seeing Dr. Michelle Mitchell since her doors first opened. She saved my life and has been a partner in my care ever since. She is not only my doctor, but my husband’s, son’s, dad’s and stepmom’s doc. She actually thinks and considers what you are telling her. She is smart and direct, some folks have a hard time with that.
Dr. Mitchell was referred to me by my retiring family physician so I registered as a new patient. The front staff scheduled me two weeks later for my first visit, then on my first appointment I was examined by Dr. Mitchell and was diagnosed with two lymph nodes, despite not having any two weeks prior by my former physician. She recommended a blood work and ultrasound exam, even though I told her i just had one done with negative results. The ultrasound was scheduled by the front staff two full weeks ahead, despite voiced concerns of my family history. I was able to move up my appointment myself a full week earlier, only to have the results show no nodes. She lacks genuine concern for my health and welfare to make me suffer emotionally for three weeks for nothing, and not to mention unnecessary expense incurred. She may be a fine doctor, but for me I cannot trust her with my health.
I have been seeing Dr. Mitchell for the past 5 years and couldn't be happier with my care. Other reviews have stated that her front desk staff is un-organized which I would have to agree too - there was a point where I always felt like they had no idea what they were talking about. But they have gotten better in the past few years.
As for Dr. Mitchell's bedside manner - she is a very blunt and straightforward person who will tell you like it is. If you can't handle that or are perhaps a bit more on the sensitive side you will not like her. I stay with her because I am a higher risk patient with an autoimmune disease that needs constant attention. She is very proactive with me as a patient and always makes sure that no stone is left unturned.
The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because in recent visits when I wanted to see her and speak to her, I didn't get an appointment with her specifically and I ended up seeing one of her associates. I am aware that she is trying to grow her practice as well, which is probably the reason for me seeing other doctors and nurse practitioners.
I hope you're well! This doctor will not take you if you want basic care (to start as a new patient with a physical) if you have any sort of minor injury in the recent past. They made me beg to get an appointment, and I truthfully confessed that I was not feeling any ill effects from a minor accident months ago, where I had gotten a small scrape on my arm that had gone away. Then they still turned me away as a new patient. If you are looking for a doctor, you should either 1) be 100% healthy for your whole life (?), 2) lie to them, or 3) go elsewhere.
I just started as a new patient and then my insurance carrier notifies me 15 days after the fact, that she will no longer be a primary care physician. Why even bother accepting new patients if that's the case. Really upset about this one.
Very poor patient interaction. Does not respond like any doctor I have seen. Rude, scolding, impatient, condescending.
Somehow online reviews for medical provider seem problematic. Just takes a few angry people to harm a provider's reputation and it's not clear why. Imagine spending so many years and so much money to become a clinician and then getting trashed online because a patient didn't get meds they wanted or didn't like being given advice that involves making change. This isn't some junk from China you bought on Amazon that you're reviewing. Seems very unfair.
I'm motivated to write this after seeing some of these negative reviews.
My few appointments at Dr. Mitchell's practice have been excellent. I find all the staff friendly and organized, and my wait time has been less than at almost any provider in my life. I've never had to walk more than 50 feet from where I parked. Dr. Mitchell herself seems very no-nonsense and professional. I can see how some might misinterpret that as not having whatever bedside manner they're expecting. Personally, I prefer competence and am not looking for a buddy to hang out with. I think competence represents the height of compassion, however that's delivered. My experience of her, her nurses, and her PA are that they are clear, patient, concerned, not rushed, open to questions, and always professional.
Based on my experience so far, I would highly recommend her and her practice.
I have been seeing Dr. Mitchell for about a year now and she has completely turned my health around. She is always willing to listen and come up with a plan that will work best for you. I truly feel that she cares about me not just as her patient, but as a person.
Dr. Mitchell and her office have changed my life. They care about you and how you're doing. I'm so grateful to the doctors' and staff at Hawaii Family Health.
The worst bed side manner of any doctor I have gone to. The office staff dropped the ball on every insurance & referral. Never got a referral after 8 months. Practically every prescription was messed up too. I wouldn’t give any stars to this doctors office.
You are allowed only ONE health issue per visit. If you bring up other health concerns, she'll get upset.
Worst doctor I've ever seen. Staff is awful. Parking sucks.
No compassion, unprofessional, failed to answer my questions effectively. Came to her with a dilemma and she did not help in any meaningful way or offer solutions. I would give her zero stars, if I could.
Dr. Michelle A. Mitchell represents professional competence. She listens, she checks, she prescribes correctly.
Not very professional. Condescending and Rude. She seems to have a problem with having men as patients. The front staff seems very disorganized.
My wife and a good friend both had/have her as their doctor and both said her bedside manner is abrupt and without showing much empathy. I've no doubt she is very knowledgeable in her field, so if you don't expect much of a bedside manner, I guess you won't be disappointed.
