The world food duo dined at Morton’s, The Steakhouse, in the Ala Moana Center as I had a gift certificate. Alas, it was misplaced but we went anyway as I’d never had dinner there, just business lunches.

Our reservation was for 6pm but we arrived a little early … Whoa, the restaurant was already packed with diners! I perused the wine list; it took a while because the lighting was very subdued … I finally picked out a 2017 Justin Justification as I couldn’t find the right pinot noir. Jonah opened the bottle expertly but spilled a bit on my hand and the table when pouring it … The table was blessed! A round of pre-sliced bread arrived … warm and soft and oh so tasty! The wine needed time to breath so it was good that service was leisurely.

Niccole was our server … we opted to share a Caesar Salad; luckily for us because a full order would have been way too much. My partner opted for the ribeye with truffle butter and I chose the dry-aged NY Strip with Bourbon Sauce Au Poivre. Our sides were The Troy and the Baked Corn Souffle.

The Troy was button mushrooms and fried onions; I’d expected something more. The star was the Baked Corn Souffle … It was creamy, but retained the texture of the niblets … Simply delicious!

My fellow foodie liked her ribeye; the truffle butter was wonderful. My dry-aged NY Strip was flavorful but somewhat tough … I should have asked how many days it was aged. I find that 45 days is the tipping point; anything less is not worth the extra money. However, my steak was less expensive than the prime steaks so I wonder if it was choice, not prime.

We ordered the Morton’s Hot Chocolate Cake and the Affogato. I asked for an espresso as most affogatos don’t have enough coffee. This one was different; it had tequila in it and was served in a martini glass. More a drink than the coffee over ice cream that I expected. I like it, but didn’t need any more alcohol. The hot chocolate cake was great … Soft, moist and the molten chocolate just oozed out. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some raspberries.

Service was attentive but not obtrusive; we enjoyed a leisurely dinner over 2 hours … Just right, in our opinion. Quibbles: I would have wished for a few more options for appetizers … my partner is allergic to shellfish so we would have liked something besides the bacon and Wagyu meatballs. That’s what pushed us to order a salad. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable for a steakhouse. Recommended: 4.5 stars.

I have always had a great experience at Mortons where ever we would go. A bit of a "expectation" great all the way around. Unfortunately this experience was not so good, the manager, wine manager and server were "GREAT". Unfortunately the kitchen was not. Five steaks ordered three were boarder line cold when served. One was raw though ordered medium well. They server did what he could knowing the kitchen was behind they brought out more bread and free salad all while we waited. I spent nearly 750.00 on dinner and wine.was out family dinner my 60th birthday. I wasn't going to be the complaining customer but I should of called the manager over. I was trying to have a nice meal and realax after a nice day. Instead I was really disappointed I paid that much for a meal and it really % (#$! $ was not good.

Atmosphere:
The ambiance at Morton's is upscale and classic, exuding a sense of timeless elegance. The décor often features rich, dark wood, plush seating, and subdued lighting, setting the stage for an intimate and luxurious dining experience. The restaurant tends to attract a clientele looking for a fine dining experience, which makes it a popular choice for business dinners, special occasions, and romantic evenings.

Food:
Morton's prides itself on serving top-quality beef, usually USDA Prime, which represents the top 2-3% of beef available in the market. Steaks are typically served a la carte and are cooked to perfection, be it a bone-in ribeye, filet mignon, or New York strip. Apart from steak, they offer a range of seafood options like lobster and tuna steaks, as well as other entrées like chicken and pork chops. Side dishes usually need to be ordered separately and include favorites like creamed spinach and truffle fries.

Wine and Beverages:
One of the defining features of Morton's is its wine list, which is often extensive and carefully curated to pair well with their menu. Whether you prefer a robust red to go with your steak or a crisp white for your seafood, there's likely something for everyone. They also offer a selection of cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options.

Service:
Service at Morton's is generally attentive, professional, and focused on providing a high-quality dining experience. Waitstaff are usually knowledgeable about the menu and can offer suggestions on food and wine pairings.

Price:
Given the quality of the ingredients and the level of service, Morton's is on the pricier end of the dining spectrum. It's not a place for budget dining, but if you're looking for a special experience, many consider it well worth the expense.

Overall:
Morton's The Steakhouse offers a luxurious dining experience focused on top-quality steaks and exceptional service. It's an ideal place for special occasions or when you're looking to indulge in a gourmet meal. However, expect to pay premium prices for the experience. If you appreciate fine dining and are willing to splurge a little, Morton's is definitely worth considering.

Terrible Service! Stay away!

Alexander the manager harrassed me infront of guests and followed me outside of the restaurant to accuse me of not paying when there was clearly cash left on the table. The meal should have received a discount or something yet I was left feeling in utter disbelief at the horrible experience that just occurred.

Started off with ordering a generic drink, yet server said the bartender won't make it cuz she's to busy. Yet it was 5pm meaning no one's really there and that's booty the way to start a guests experience. So then I order a basic drink just to find it tasting absolutely terrible. The server didn't seem to notice I took one sip and didn't touch it again.

Secondly, when I tried to place my order, the server stated "no you want this instead" me being dumb said okay. Yet once I finshed my appetizer I waited 30 min for my entre and when the sammon arrived, it was not flaky as it should be, and was smothered in horseradish.

I told the waiter I was not pleased with the salmon, and the server got a terrible attitude and she said "well it's listed on the menu as such so what do you want me to do about it" the server could have smoothed things over or simply not treat me disrespectfully.

Due to this appaling situation, I lost my appetite and any interest in the restaurant was evaporated. I asked for the bill and the server stomped away and then paced around the dining room looking for a manger. I waited for her to come back yet after more than 15 minutes the server never returned. I left cash on the table and left.
Yet as I'm leaving quitely the manager "Alexander" follows me out of the restaurant and accuses me of not paying my bill when what he should have started with was an apology and then treat me like a human being and help find a solution to the poor experience.

The fact is I paid for food I was disgusted by and still gave the server a 20$ tip.

I'm absolutely horrified by this establishment and this location is the worst representative of the corporate brand in my opinion.

Ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye medium rare and it was burnt on the outside. Literally was like blackened on outside and rare on inside. On top of that, they pre cut the steak against the grain in just thick enough cuts that I couldn’t cut it myself against the grain in thin cuts. Not sure how other steaks taste but maybe stay away from the Tomahawk Ribeye over here.

A roach crawled out from under my plate and another was on the table and they decided to send me a $25 gift certificate. I brought a friend in here bragging about how good they were. It was embarrassing.

Consistently Disappointing Experience at Morton's Waikiki

I have ordered takeout from Morton's in Waikiki on multiple occasions, and unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently disappointing. The main issue I've encountered is with the preparation of the steak – it's never cooked to the desired level, prompting me to call ahead to ensure it's not undercooked. This inconsistency has left me frustrated and questioning the quality of the kitchen's execution.

Furthermore, the au gratin potatoes, a side dish I had high hopes for, ended up being a letdown. Despite the menu description, they simply tasted like a combination of cheese and potatoes, lacking any depth or complexity in flavor. This lackluster offering added to my overall dissatisfaction with the meals I've received.

In addition to the culinary disappointments, the communication and service have also left something to be desired. Having to call ahead to ensure proper steak preparation adds an extra layer of inconvenience, and it suggests a lack of attention to detail on the kitchen's part.

I had hoped for a more enjoyable dining experience from a renowned establishment like Morton's, but unfortunately, my interactions with the Waikiki location have consistently fallen short. I genuinely hope that the restaurant takes these concerns seriously and takes steps to improve the quality of their dishes and service, as I believe they have the potential to offer a much better experience to their customers. Until then, I'm left with the regrettable impression of consistently underwhelming meals and missed opportunities.

Go ahead and know you're going to spend quite a bit on food here BUT. SO WORTH IT! Everything was amazing right down to desert! The service was extraordinary as well! Some of the best food I've eaten in Waikiki!

***Superb on every level***

(Of note there is a dress code but if your in normal clothes and not beachwear or torn up jeans you should be OK. Also they are on the second level of the mall)

While in the higher price range, if you are able to splurge on a wonderful dinning experience this is well worth it. The staff is all very nice and more than accommodating.

They have free bread service for the table and the drinks are made to perfection. The food is also cooked and seasoned just right.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Morton's The Steakhouse. They rolled out the red carpet out for our entire family. They saturated us with hospitality and exquisite cuisine. We send heartfelt gratitude to all the staff (especially Mark and Rob) for contributing to the enduring memories created during our fabulous vacation to Hawaii and our milestone 30th anniversary.
P. S. I can't wait to visit the Chicago location when I return home.
Mahalo to the entire staff, including those who served behind the scenes.

Our waiter Rob was remarkable. He was on his game. Professional, personable, and intuitive. He made my husband Gil’s birthday very special. Our hostess was also lovely and welcoming.

Lobster bisque, lobster ravioli, and the steak were delicious. Yes the food takes a while, and they ran out of mashed potatoes, but the server was very good. The GM even stopped to take care of dessert for us!

Friendly and professional staff! Morton was packed! Three French onion soup was delicious, so we're the crab cakes and juicy oysters. Meaty lobster, buttery mushrooms, generous portions.
