My girlfriend and I truly enjoyed our 2 hour private lessons with Zack. He is an excellent instructor! Professional, patient and safety-conscious. The conditions were perfect and we got to see some turtles! He also gave us some food recommendations after. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Zac was great had us up on waves quickly and was really good at tweaking our form so we improved every wave

We saw the good reviews and booked a 1.5 hour lesson for two… IT WAS AWESOME! This was easily one of our top favorite things we did on our whole vacation! Zack was an incredible instructor and got both my husband and I laughing, up on boards, and surfing in no time. He had personalized tips for each of us to get the most out of our lesson, helped us develop good surfing form, and even had great additional info we could take back home to our own surfing spots as we get more into the sport. (A couple personal tips: eat at least a few hours before and don’t forget sunscreen on the backs of your legs.)
**Overall, an 11 out of 10 experience and we’d highly recommend to anyone going to Oahu looking for a fun outdoor activity. We had such a great time, we would come back to the island just to do this again! Mahalo!

What a wonderful day on the water with Zack. Had both my boys (8 year old twins) up and surfing in 2-3 tries. Wonderful attitude. Wonderful excitement. Could not speak more highly of the experience. Thank you Zack!

I’ve had other lessons around Oahu but this was by far my favourite! Brought my friends who were first timers and everyone caught waves thanks to Zack’s teaching and pointers. It was our favourite day and the two hours really flew by cause we were having so much fun (definitely recommend booking the full two hours!). We also saw a bunch of sea turtles! You can’t go wrong doing lessons with Zack

Lawerence and Kane were amazing instructors. We appreciated their patience and cheerleading. We all walked away having at least stood or knelt on the long board. Lawerence had flippers on and made us feel safe and even saved my sister from a mishap with some rocks.

Our 4-year-old did the tandem surfing and asked about Kane everyday we were on the island. Kane was so attentive and friendly with him! It made our hearts happy to see him actually standing by the end of our time with them.

We had a bit of a miscommunication in the beginning and ended up at the wrong beach. We were 20 minutes late but they ensured we got our full time and got us to a location that was more enjoyable and safe than where we initially thought we’d be surfing.

Good vibes for my 11 year old son wanting to try surfing for his first time. He got up every wave and had a great session with the instructor Kane (Kah nay). "Kane was so chill, and was so nice to surf with" my son said:) He's now caught the stoke, and wants to surf every chance he gets. Inspiration, Stoke accomplished! Thank you Ohana School of Surf.

This is an awesome experience. Zac took us out and we had a great time more importantly I got up! 13 years ago we tried it with a different group and I never got up! This time he had my family all loving it. Highly recommend this school.

Zach and his team were amazing! None of us had ever surfed before (me, my husband, kids: 8,10,12), but Zach had all of us up and surfing in no time. These surf lessons were definitely a highlight of the trip for everyone! You should absolutely book with Zach at North Shore Ohana Surf School!

Fantastic experience! Our family had a great time. We were all up and riding waves within minutes!

Called Zach 24hrs before booking (short lead time) and didn't confirm until 6pm the night before. Super nice on the phone and confirmed he could take me and my 7yr old out the next morning. We had a blast! I paired up with Nakoa and Zach took my son tandem. 1.5hrs was the right amount of time for a 7yr olds attention span. Great guys, knowledgeable, easy going, helpful. Would book again without hesitation. Mahalo dude!

We had a great time learning to surf with Zack! He was patient, skilled and a great teacher. The water was beautiful and perfect for beginner surfing. Would highly recommend!

Zach gave my two daughters an awesome lesson and had them up and riding waves in no time. Not only did he teach them the fundamentals in a record short amount of time, but he also kept them safe and having fun. Highly recommended. Nothing better than getting your kids out on a surfboard their first morning in Hawaii! And Zach even sent us recommendations for other spots to check out after the lesson without being asked - deeply appreciated!

Zach was a great instructor. Patient and gave clear instruction. I was actually able to stand on the board! My first time learning to surf, it was an incredible experience. Worth it. It was a session of two newbies, he really made us feel comfortable and I’m definitely making this a new hobby.

I called in the morning to check for availability later that day and Zack squeezed 3 of us in for a private lesson - I’m so glad he did! He did an awesome job of accommodating our different needs (me with my weak noodle arms, my boyfriend who is a stronger swimmer, and my 60 year old dad) and made sure we all caught some waves. Pua’ena point beach park is such a nice place to learn - everyone there was very friendly and we got some helpful pointers. And saw some turtles! Zack is also just a cool guy and we learned a lot from him. Highly recommend! Don’t forget to sunscreen your butt
